Summit Bermuda Roll Calls

I am somewhat mystified by my specific roll call on the Summit to Bermuda.

Following are the current roll calls with the number of members:

  • 5/15 - 54
  • 5/22 - 36
  • 6/5 - 40
  • 6/12 - 26
  • 6/19 - 30

Then there is our cruise, departing on June 26, total members 4.

Is no one going on this cruise? Am I that offensive and disliked?

I promise I will try to behave.

Don't feel bad because only about 10% of those who cruise spend time on Cruise Critic.

You are also sailing when school just ends in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area. Lots of families will probably be on your cruise, and most probably don't participate on Cruise Critic.

I just checked 6/5/16, and there are 48 signed up. I hope to meet most folks at Sail Away. The Cruise Connections Party is more informative than anything, and I find it difficult to meet fellow cruisers at that function. Sail Away or pre-cruise get togethers are the best.

Hey you left out May 29th. Don't you like me? We only have 29 members signed up for our CC party, mostly because people could not sign up for the past few weeks. I think we might get a few more.

Actually, your cruise is a partial charter and they usually don't get a lot of people on the roll calls. This is because they often have their own means of communicating through the group.

No idea how many, I have no association with the group, only saw it on the web.

They were also on last year at the same time (we did that cruise also) and our roll call was much busier than this year. This year has been really quiet. I think some people are just tired of posting on CC and are using other outlets.

As for last year they really didn't effect any of the ship as far as we saw.

Less people on your board could be an indication of a larger group on the ship this year.

We are sailing on the August 7th Bermuda cruise and our sailing just shows 6 people. However, this is a clitch in the system as at least 15 people have posted that they have signed up and the number hasn't changed. I had the same experience as the others...I don't count!

That cruise has been chartered by a summer camp group, going with 2000 children. All bars will be closed entire cruise, that is why no one has booked. :p

Leatherlady here,

Arzeena, are you and RJ on the June 12th cruise to Bermuda or are you on the later one. I don't know if I'm on the right board. We're going on the June 12th trip. Hope you're on that one. Miss you both. Saw you posted on these boards. Give me a call if you can.

That is a funny reply! I would not want to be on that cruise!😂

July 24 only has 6 for CC party and very, very few postings. Sure hope the cruise has more energy and friendliness than what appears now. Vicki

I've been on one of those late July cruises on Summit. Lots of families. To avoid all the hassle, stay in the adult areas (Solarium, Martini Bar, Casino, etc) and eat at the late seating. You will be just fine. Spend a lot of time at the Sunset Bar. :)

If you look around on the Bermuda summer roll calls, you will notice that the ones in late June, July and August, many will have very few posts and some will have sometimes have no roll call at all. As some other posters on your thread have alluded to, most of the people on these sailings are traditional vacationers, and not Cruise Critic people.

So true! I'm on the Breakaway this time in Bermuda, but already missing the awesome Summit roll call! Our has not been as active and there is no sail away party planned, despite me trying :( I have a feeling I'll be back on the Summit next year!
