Out flights don't leave until 7:00 pm and we have the the ship excursion with the everglades and also done one off RCI seeing all the millionaire homes on the riverboat tour. only one offered on Carnival Conquest and it's the everglades which like a said we have done. Can anyone tell me if they have used a private tour to kill time before flights. I know we can get a taxi etc. to the mall or beach but luggage is a factor. Thanks for your suggestions and help in advance.

We always rent a car for the day. We usually book Dollar/Thrifty with a Port Everglades pick up and Airport drop off. There's a shuttle at the port to pick up the car and you're dropping off directly at the airport.

Last fall, we drove down to the Keys. It was a great day. Total car cost, with taxes and fees, was $45.

Have you considered using the luggage valet program...then you won't have a concern about your luggage...then possibly just a small carryon or backpack will be the only thing with you.

You can always park your luggage at the airport for the day, then take bus/taxi to downtown, Los Olas, or take the Water Taxi to Hollywood.

Just asking but is their a place to park the luggage at the airport in Fort Lauderdale?

Thanks, but not use to the area and we are senior's didn't want to do that sorry and we've been to the Keys several times. Thanks good idea though

No, you certainly would not have time for the keys.

Do you like the beach?

I would rent a car and head up to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea!

Have lunch at Aruba then walk around the area.

Maybe catch a matinee at one of our great cinemas? They are all dine in theaters.

Bonnet House, Stranahan House are both excellent tours.

If not the beach, head over to Las Olas for a great alfresco lunch. It is a great place to walk around.

Thank you all for all the suggestion. Will check into Carnival and see if they have the luggage program. We have used that on other Cruise lines.

Carnival Conquest has luggage check-in service to FLL airport.

That sounds great! Las Olas is amazing. Just another suggestion, if you're cruising to gamble, the Hard Rock in Hollywood is somewhat near Las Olas. They've got a great casino and shows.

Do I need to reserve the shuttle ahead of time? Or does it circle about?

Thank you. Yes, I have a reservation at Dollar for pick-up at the Port Everglades location. But should I pre-arrange the shuttle pick-up?

I've seen the shuttle many times, but I don't know how they arrange time. Why don't you just call them and let them tell you how it works. If it were me, I would want to get off the ship as early as possible, get my car and be on my way.

We've used Dollar/Thrifty at Port Everglades...their shuttle is easy to spot and comes and goes often as it's just outside the terminal gate (the closest rental office/agency) to PE on Miami Road. No worries ... this will be easier than you think...enjoy !!
