Fine, I'll Try a Small Ship - Live GRANDEUR Review (July 2, 2016)

Recommended Posts

It covers all drinks including frozen drinks. Courtney drinks Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc which is $12 a glass. I will not use it for my Coronas obviously but I'll use it for our bushwackers, frozen mudslides and for my Grey Goose and Sodas which are around $10-11 each (damn you RCI for not serving Tito's Vodka!!!)

What!? No Tito's! Hopefully LOS serves it on embarkation day out of Galveston since they can only serve Texas spirits out of port..

Looking at getting surf & stream Internet for my cruise but would rather use OBC to pay. Do you know daily cost onboard? And when you upgraded was the charge from prepaid to onboard or a lesser amount. Would love to combine prepay discount with OBC to reduce costs. Thanks.

Looking at doing this cruise instead of transatlantic in November to ease the budget strain.

I would pay for it before your cruise. See the prices below for on-board. The prices are higher on the ship.

I think when you get within a certain window of time before your sailing, your OBC becomes available to use within your cruise planner. That was the case at least with my June Anthem sailing.

FYI - Tito's is indeed on Liberty.

Thanks for the casino bar photo. It's been a few years but that took me back to the many nights we spent on Rhapsody when it was based in Galveston. Completely had forgotten what the casino looked like and now I remember like it was yesterday! :D Good times.....

My pleasure. And it sounds like I should be booking all my future cruises on the Liberty.

Me and my husband will be sailing on the Grandeur of the Seas Aug. 4 - 13 from Baltimore going to New England/Canada. At first I had chosen the Anthems of the Seas for this route in late August. After reading all the reviews and the reviews were consistently bad, I got nervous and switched over to Grandeur of the seas. I know that it is a much smaller ship than we are use to but I didn't want to pay the higher price for a new ship and get worst service. It sound like a nightmare the Anthem of the seas - very slow service, they nickel and dime you for everything. Even the special features that the ship has (bumper cars, etc.) there is a long, long line for it and a lot of people didn't even get to get on the cars, etc. We were looking for a relaxing cruise anyway and we were going on this route because we wanted to go lobster fishing in Maine. We normally cruise in the Carribbean/Alaska/Hawaii but this was one thing on our bucket list to do. I will be very interested in your review and look forward to reading it. (I did not know that they did not have refrigerators in the room, although I have read about the shower curtain - LOL. I will remember to bring some clothes pins. Normally when we cruise, we do not stay in the room that much only to sleep and shower). Heard that the rooms are extremely small, so I paid extra t get a large interior room only to just find out that the large interior room is only about a foot larger than the regular interior room!! Oh my I hope I made the right choice in changing ships.
