UK Cruisers-OBC purchase

Recommended Posts

When I spoke to a woman at RCL about this OBC purchase she warned me that because I have OBC with the purchase price of the cruise that any that I buy would be the first to be spent.

The OBC that is given with the cruise is non refundable meaning you need to spend all of your combined (awarded and pre purchased) OBC because you don't get any back.

Doesn't make sense or fair to me.

It wouldn't affect you if you haven't got OBC already but has anybody else had this experience?

They look at free OBC as free "stuff" not money. $100 of OBC is not the same as them giving you $100 to take home .

I just reduce the amount of credit I buy by the amount of free OBC I have to make sure I dont have any left over.

Yes I get that you can't take the free OBC home but it's more a case of making sure you don't 'over-buy' any pre-purchased OBC as you will end up spending it on things you don't particularly need.

Also, after following this thread from the start I've not heard this mentioned, so maybe people don't realise

This all being if the woman I spoke to was correct in what she was sayIng!!!

I have read that it can be put back on your card at end of cruise, but maybe they didn't have "free" OBC?

You can also take out your OBC at the casino. If you set your Seapass up as a cash account there is no fee, if you have a credit card associated with your account they charge a 5% fee.
