manmtnmike Posted September 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2016 We've been here before but hoping for closest hotel for pre-cruise. Need hotel shuttle for 10:30 pm pick up. Looking at Ramada or Comfort Inn on State Rd 84. If we had an earlier arrival we would look at beach location... Anyway, For Jan 28 stay, what has the best pricing? Thanks Mike
CruiserBruce Posted September 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2016 Nothing is very far at Ft Lauderdale. So any of the several hotels on 17th St commonly recommended here would be a quick and inexpensive taxi ride away.

elycelynne Posted September 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) Another vote for Hyatt Place. Their rate for that night is $219 + taxes (I know, because I have a room booked there for that night myself). Are you a big party, or is there another reason that you specifically need the shuttle? If not, a cab there isn't all that expensive -- Most likely around $15 - $20. Edited September 16, 2016 by elycelynne
champagne123 Posted September 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) 100 percent agree with Bruce. Stay on 17th St. where the entrance to the port is. It is only a very quick 10 minute cab ride. This way you are near all of the stores, restaurants, etc. and can pick up any last minute items at CVS, Walgreens, or liquor store. Even if the hotel does not provide a shuttle to the port (many of them do), it is a 1 minute ride to the port. I wouldn't want to be stuck out on 84. PS. Extended Stay on 17th. St. has a shuttle that will pick you up at the airport AND take you to the port the following day. We called them when we landed and met the shuttle out front. When we checked in, we were asked what time we wanted to go to the port. They are very accommodating. doone Posted September 17, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2016 Another vote for 17th Street Hyatt thru valuetrips, better hotel than staying at the airport area and agree with others here, not that far from the airport.
royalcruz Posted September 19, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2016 We have Uber in Fort Lauderdale, so there is no need to choose a hotel based on a late night shuttle service. It will cost less than $10 to an airport area hotel at 10:30 PM, and you won't have to worry if your plane is delayed.
BlueHerons Posted September 20, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 20, 2016 I wouldn't want to shuttle to that area at 10:30 at night. Agree, stay on 17th Street.
