Having a non-smoking area in the casino is like having a non-peeing section in the swimming pool.

I know. I've been saying that for years..(lol) but I know someone who will not cruise on Anthem unless there is a casino bar and smoking is allowed in the casino. Just don't want any surprises !

Not sure how Anthem Casino is set up, but some Royal ships now prohibit smoking at the Casino bar.

Yes, I'd like to know too. A cruiser friend WILL NOT cruise unless there is smoking in the casino and the casino bar is smoking.

 

Not a major concern for me but I'm just trying to HELP...LOL

I was last on the Anthem in February and I believe that I saw people smoking at the casino bar.

I get that. The change on EN to a NON smoking Casino bar and area of the Casino Bar were recent. The way it was explain to me by the Casino Host was it was part of Casino Royale Phase II rollout. Empress Casino is NON SMOKING.

 

Thought maybe the NON SMOKING bar we had might apply fleet wide for US Ports? I will know more in 30 days.

We were on Anthem 9/25/16, no smoking at casino bar. The smoking section started about 10 feet back from the bar.

 

I am beginning to believe this is a change fleet wide for US Ports. It is still a bar frequented by both SMOKING and NON SMOKING guests. Sometimes quickest place to get a drink when open.

Oh, this makes sense now. We are just off the Anthem this past weekend and spent time in the casino nearly every night. I hardly ever saw more than 2 people at the bar, and I noticed the section on the other side of the bar was so thick with smoke I couldn't play there. The rest of the casino seemed fine to me (DH and I are former smokers so I am understanding, but now I just can't stand it lol). I didn't know there were smoking and non-smoking sections! I thought they just had great ventilation systems in the other areas :D I never saw anybody smoking in the casino while it was closed.

Most Royal ships split the Casino and part is SMOKING and the rest is NON SMOKING. Seem to have nearly equal machines and tables by area. I believe the Casino Bar areas are now NON SMOKING. The Casino on Empress is entirely NON SMOKING.

The bar was never busy when we were there, great service.
