Sabors Avacado Tool Product Review

Last month my wife purchased what appeared to me to be a 50 cent cheap plastic tool from Sabors restaurant after a sales pitch from the waiter. Cost was 18USD. She used it tonight and to my surprise she really likes it and says it works great. If she is happy I am happy. Hope everyone who purchased one enjoys it.

When they first opened sabor last year on navigator they were not selling them yet and told us where to find them. Now they are selling them with a mark up.

I got the same one from a seller on amazon who shipped from China and it was 2.32 shipped free. Can't imagine what RCL buys these things in bulk for.

This is one of those things I saw and thought I had to have. Then I realized that a simple knife will do the same thing and I don't have to clean the bunch of different sections that this tool has. Plus I just tossed out a bunch of 'must have' kitchen gadgets because they take to much time to use and to much room to store.

While it looks cool I have decided to pass....:rolleyes:

I'll stick with my knife and spoon. That dull thing would just slow me down. Another gimmick to take up drawer space.

My thoughts exactly. I think it takes my 25-30 seconds to hollow out an avocado. Useless gadget.

While it looks like kind of neat, a knife and spoon works just as well. I think this may make sense in a restaurant environment, where an all-in-one tool could lead to less loss.

 

I generally like OXO products, but this seems to be a one trick pony.

 

We were on the Allure in May of this year and ate at Sabor twice during a two week period, and were never offered this for sale. However I am guessing this may have changed since then.

Someone here on CC posted a recipe from Sabor not too long ago. Can't find it, hard to do it with the app, but you could buy the tool cheap online, get the recipe for free and save your money and time [emoji16]
