Rare Lois R Posted November 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2005 :D ......Carol Burnett Reunion on Bravo? It was on last night and I think they will be re-running it. Talk about Fashion over the years...... They showed her very first show....and each season following. She had a beautiful pants suit on last night. It was black with sequins, really looked lovely. (They showed her coming out on stage for each season). Also attending were Carol Lawrence, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman and Lyle Waggoner. Remember the famous "Gone With The Wind" Skit? She wore those BIG green velvet drapes as her dress:D It is the first time I really took notice of all her outfits for the beginning of each show. You know how she always had Q&A with the audience? Well, there was a young man on about 15 years ago....and he was in last night's audience! And he got to go up on stage and kiss her... 15 years ago and last night too! It is funny how "BIG" things were.......BIG clothing....BIG HAIR....LOL If this show is repeated....anyone who loves to laugh will enjoy it:) They showed many skits.....it was FUN to watch!:D
esther e Posted November 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Hi Lois I just checked my scroll and it's going to be repeated on Saturday on Bravo from 2:30 AM - 4:30 AM. Insomaniacs (sp?) delight. Others can tape or TIVO. Esther
LandLockedInAZ Posted November 4, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Thanks for the heads up, Lois and Esther! I LOVE Carol Burnett and her show! I'll have to check that out. And the Went With the Wind is probably my all-time favorite Carol Burnett skit!! Absolutely hilarious!
kitty9 Posted November 4, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Bravo is doing a number of reunion shows this week. They are actually repeats that have aired on network television over the past couple of years. But, I did love the Carol Burnett show. One of the best variety shows ever. lszu Posted November 4, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Didn't see it, but I used to love the Carol Burnett Show. I used to crack up when they were laughing so hard at themselves they couldn't get through a scene. And, yes, Lois, I do remember the Gone With the Wind skit. That and the Sunset Blvd. one were among my favorites.
Ms Belvedere Posted November 4, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Her gowns were designed by Bob Mackie and that dress from the green drapes was also designed by him. What an amazing show, so much talent and it was geared to families. I can't think of anything like it on television today. Ms B

Happy ks Posted November 5, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 5, 2005 I'll have to watch for it, too! I loved her show for years and loved the Bob Mackie dresses she wore. Trevoli Posted November 23, 2005 #10 Share Posted November 23, 2005 That Gone with the Wind sketch was a classic. I'll never forget her with those huge green velvet drapes, curtain rod and all. Another cast member remarked that it was a pretty dress, and she said, "I saw it in the window and just had to have it". She could not get through that line with a straight face. Too funny. I don't get Bravo, so couldn't watch this. Maybe another network will broadcast it sometime. T
lszu Posted December 1, 2005 #11 Share Posted December 1, 2005 Lois - I finally saw this over Thanksgiving weekend! It was hilarious. I didn't realize how young Vicki Lawrence was on the show!
