This resort is a steal for a beach day in Cozumel! It can't be beat! Food is delicious and drinks are actually strong!

 

50 dollars for the day, pass is good from 9 am to 5 pm, includes use of the facilities, food, drinks, and snorkeling

Chris, how does this place compare to Nachi Cocum? If I remember correctly, you went to Nachi on our Oasis cruise in May. Enjoying your review.:)

Nothing against Nachi but I would take this place again hands down. The price is lower and it's so convenient being right by where the Royal Caribbean ships dock

We have been going to El CID for a couple of years. Actually, you don't have to book ahead of time - just stop at the Kiosk on the street before the hotel and Leo will take care of you. Think the cost for the all inclusive is $47 and they also have a pay as you go day pass for $20 in which they give you $12 credit towards food and or drink. So, basically use of their facilities for $8/pp.

We were on the same Liberty cruise out of Galveston last week (23/10).

 

For what is is worth, our highlights were as follows:

 

Best Dining Experience: Giovanni's and Chops (equally good)

Best Appetizer: Slow roast belly of pork (Giovanni's)

Best Entree: Filet Mignon (Chops)

Best Dessert: Sticky Bread and Butter Pudding (MDR)

Best Service: Giovanni's

 

Best Beach: Mr Sanchos (all inclusive $50), Cozumel

Best Trip: Goff's Caye, idyllic desert island off coast of Belize ($40), with superb snorkelling

Best Food (portside): Coconut Shrimp (Mr Sanchos)

Best Drink: Dirty Monkey cocktail (Mr Sanchos)

Best Service (portside): Personal waiter service at Mr Sanchos

 

Entertainment highlight: Quest Game Show (6th night, I think)

Show highlight: Saturday Night Fever (for 3rd time!)

Daytime ship highlight: Flowrider and Boomerang slide

Best Bar: Hoof & Claw pub

 

Biggest Disappointment: Men who wear shorts on formal nights in MDR, why can't the slobs stick to the Windjammer?

Hey Chris, thanks for a fantastic LIVE report!!! I can't believe the week flew by like it did, I have really enjoyed following along :)

 

I'm headed to Fort Lauderdale this week and will start my own LIVE report on Wednesday for my Freedom of the Seas cruise - it may help you with any PCD (Post Cruise Depression) you may have next week!

 

In the meantime, enjoy your final day and thanks again for taking us with you. I know the time and commitment it takes to report Live :D
