Question about booking onboard

We know exactly what cruise we want - Its a 14 day Journey. The problem we are having is with selecting a cabin. There will be 3 of us and we want a suite.

Can we book on board using early saver to get the OBC and then change our cabin number later, or is there a penalty fee for that? We have been going back & forth with our agent about 2 different options and really do not know which to pick.

Book the cruise with a non-refundable rate such as past guest and then you can make whatever changes you want later with no penalty. Then you can change the code to Early Saver.

If you do book a suite under Early Saver and you are just changing the cabin number and nothing else, that is not a problem either. You can always upgrade your cabin with no penalty but not downgrade.

If they have implemented the new changes to booking onboard, there really isn't much of a plus side in standing in line to do so for a $50 OBC, and no F&F certificates. Plus all bookings made onboard are on the ES rate with the associated limitations.

We just got off the Miracle ,and booked a Hawaii 15 day using a fully refundable rate . we got $200.00 OBC and 2 friends and Family coupons. On a 7 day you would get 100.00 OBC. When we got home we changed it to Early saver without any penalty. This way with the early saver , if our cabin rate goes down ,up to 2 days before cruising we can get the differance in more OBC. If it goes down before final Payment we get the reduction

You can book the fully refundable/changeable Past Guest rate on board. It does not have to be the early saver rate. As mentioned above, you can always change it to the early saver rate at a later date once your plans are firmed up and you don't expect to make any other changes. I always book the past guest rate on board. This gets you the on board credit and you are also able to cancel or make changes with this rate.

By the way, a 7 day cruise purchased while on a cruise gets you a $100 credit not $50. I did it with the Military rate several times. It's usually the same rate as Early Saver, the difference being that final payment is due about 2 months before the cruise and that ends price protection.
