Kween Karen Posted January 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2017 I will be traveling with my 4 and 6 year old grandchildren (and their parents) in April. I am reading that they only need official birth certificates for this cruise round trip out of Seattle. Sometimes it mentions they also need an official photo ID card of some sort. I don't know what kind of ID card small children would have. Can someone advise me on this issue??
Rare sparks1093 Posted January 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Only those 16 and older require a photo ID. They are fine with their official birth certificates.

Rare Essiesmom Posted February 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2017 I think if you plan to take a land excursion that crosses into Canada, such as at Skagway, they would need passports. A passport card might do. The up and back excursion on the White Pass train does not require it as noone gets off. EM
CruisingAlong4Now Posted February 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2017 They are the arbiter of whether or not you can board.
Kween Karen Posted February 3, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted February 3, 2017 No overland excursions are planned with the kids. I will keep them and let their parents do what they want.

EM Actually those under 16 may cross the land border with just their birth certificate, another exception that is in the regulations.
