boom_boom Posted March 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Can you board the ship, spend a day or 2 evaluating drink costs/packages and then opt to buy for the remaining days of the cruise only? Confess to being a bit of a wine snob and would like to see which package, if any, would meet my standards. Also, do both people in cabin have to buy? DW is NOT a wine snob, so I'm sure the basic house wine will work for her:D

They don't need to be the same package though. One can be a classic, the other premium.
BEAV Posted March 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Yes, you can buy the packages a few days into the cruise for the remainder of the sailing. If you're a wine snob you'll definitely want the Premium package, which allows you to pay the difference for wines by the glass over the $13 limit. The Premium package also gives a 20% discount on bottle purchases.

Are you sure about that? I didn't think both people in a stateroom had to purchase a beverage package...
helen haywood Posted March 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Both people in a cabin do NOT have to purchase a beverage package. If a beverage package is given as a promotional perk it is given to the two occupants of a cabin but that is different. Rare cruisestitch Posted March 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 6, 2017 On some other lines both occupants must have beverage packages. On Celebrity this is not required.

Well worth it. Mrs T was happy on the Classic package so we left hers as it was. Next year on Reflection I will upgrade when I board.
