Sticky51 Posted March 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2017 going on the Caribbean trip starting 18th March. Can anyone tell me what type of shows and films and if there is a good entertainment team on Oriana at the moment. Also daytime, any good lecturers, craft workshops etc? insanemagnet Posted March 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2017 As it is Oriana, prepare for shows that are attractive to the older end of the passengers on board.
jeanlyon Posted March 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2017 As the shows are the same on the ships, they all learn the same routines.
insanemagnet Posted March 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2017 As the shows are the same on the ships, they all learn the same routines. Not my experience. When I was on Oriana it had one show advertised that was effectively 'Songs from the war' which I hadn't seen elsewhere. And from the 5 minutes I saw before I left the commedian also seemed to be pitching to an older demographic with their ****** jokes.
jh1809 Posted March 8, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 8, 2017 The 'Songs from the war' show made an appearance on Aurora when I was on her last November, so it's not restricted to Oriana.
insanemagnet Posted March 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2017 But it hasn't appeared on ships like Ventura which has a younger average age. And I am amused at some of the words this forum automatically replaces with stars.
Cruise Puss Posted March 8, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 8, 2017 Some of Britannia's shows are different to all the other ships and are actually really good!😀 Sent from my Sony Z1 Compact.
tartanexile81 Posted March 8, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2017 Don't think they do the same shows any more. We went to Meet The Headliners on our recent cruise and they said how the shows they were doing were different to what headliners on different ships were doing. They named Killer Queen as an example
daiB Posted March 8, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 8, 2017 Britannia does not have the headliners. It's a different company. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
Cruise Puss Posted March 9, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 9, 2017 Britannia does not have the headliners. It's a different company. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app It is indeed different - they're just called The Britannia Show Cast. It's a bit confusing as the theatre on board is called The Headliners Theatre! :D

jeanlyon Posted March 9, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 9, 2017 Ah, I think the shows all used to be the same, so I stand corrected. I too think the shows are for a different era and I'm 70! But sometimes they do songs from the musicals or the movies and those are usually very good.
