I had the impression Sojourn deployed at least one tender while still docked and may have had some business right away. I think I heard "13 guests and 3 crew" while the ship was still headed for anchorage. People who pay Seabourn prices don't want to stand on the dock while the crew sets up tender service.

Copy that and makes sense; the ship (Sojourn's OOW) advised tender #1 that they were ready to accept tenders and gave him instructions to pass astern, stay away from the bow, and keep an eye on Oosterdam. Always takes a bit while the sailors rig the ship's tender platform, railings, etc.

Another little flashback. I just happened to notice MV Kennicott on Marine Traffic docked at the Juneau Ferry terminal and it brought me back to last year. That departure was about as close to leaving a passenger as I've ever seen. The hatch was just closed as she ran up and got somebody's attention. She would have a hard time if she missed the boat. Her motorcycle was onboard and there was no further place to meet the ship until Whittier. She was on board in plenty of time when we left Yakatat.

And there's Oosterdam.

It never stopped panning yesterday.

I think it did zoom for a little while but by the time docking really got underway it zoomed back out to cover both Eurodam and NA.

Oosterdam seems to be aiming straight for the dock. It should soon start rotating one way or the other.

So why does moisture destroy leather? After all, when it’s raining, cows don’t go up to the farmhouse yelling, “Let us in! We’re all wearing leather! We’re going to ruin the whole outfit here!”

Because it's usually been tanned or some other process done to it??
