trvlwrld Posted August 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2017 we have always sailed with princess, but are wanting to try other lines to add some variety...are there any other cruise lines that will give us credit for princess days toward their upper levels ( not wanting to give up all the points/perks that we get with our princess status) ? umuva Posted August 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2017 MSC will match your level but it does not mean you get the same perks. Just the perks that they give. Sent from my iPad using Forums
easyboy Posted August 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2017 MSC will match your level but it does not mean you get the same perks. Just the perks that they give. Yes, MSC recognizes Princess loyalty level with their Status Match program. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
wheezedr Posted August 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2017 Have only seen it offered by MSC as they try to develop business in NA.

If you stay in the "Carnival Corp family", you can get Stock Owner OBC (if you own stock). If anyone is a veteran...many? of the other Carnival lines will honor the the veteran's OBC. towhee Posted August 22, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2017 HAL will give you 1 star status, rather than 0 star status. It isn't much, but you do get invited to their lunch and receive a tile.
WALKER1313 Posted August 22, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 22, 2017 We don't let Princess Elite status stop us from trying other cruise lines. Now if we were Zenith on Celebrity, we might be stopped from trying others. We can afford a few drinks and some laundry so that we can try an itinerary we like. umuva Posted August 22, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 22, 2017 i have looked at the msc cruises but the reviews are not very good MSC has some great points: absolutely gorgeous ships; great entertainment and some of the best or maybe the best onboard shopping. Problem is food and service not yet up to North American tastes. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Veteran discounts are available on some other lines as are aarp, police, etc. Sent from my iPad using Forums

If anyone is a veteran...many? of the other Carnival lines will honor the the veteran's OBC. Princess is the only one that gives a veteran's OBC because the then President of Princess was a Vietnam veteran active in veteran affairs particularly Vietnam veteran affairs. He has since moved up to the Carnival Corp office. Other cruise lines not just the Carnival family will give veterans special fares sometimes. Always ask.
