VAPING ON DIVINA??? (vapors only answer please)

My wife and I have vaped on a cruise that didn't allow smoking before. We were very discreet and very polite about it. We did not have a problem on Carnival Paradise in the hallways or in the bars at all. We never vape at dinner or in eating areas and in public areas we take small draws not to fill the place with vape. Will we be gotten onto or get into trouble if we are discreet in bars and such for vaping? We are going to be on Divina in October. We use the small cylinder vapes (vape pens) that doesn't fill a room with fog just a 2 second puff of vape that dissipates.

As a fellow vaper, vape-ing on the ship is generally a no-no. If you are outside it is one thing, but if you are inside, it is against the rules. One night sitting in the Divina casino bar, I pulled mine out and did not even use it, but was reminded by the bartender (who was awesome) that it isn't allowed inside the ship.

(((PLEASE do not get onto me about this and if you do not vape please do not tell me how bad it is to sneak and do it. I understand but dont care. Most who vape will get it. AND PLEASE DO NOT i repeat DO NOT tell us to go to where smoking is allowed because we do not like the smell of cigarette smoke. )))

You can vape wherever you want as long as you are discrete. We cover the little blue light so nobody sees it when you take a hit. I wouldn't try it in the showroom because people will see the vapor. Other than that you should be okay.

If some busybody makes a big stink and reports you all they will do is tell you it's not allowed. Just try to make sure the same crew member doesn't tell you multiple times so if you get caught in one bar, just go to another and vape away!

Enjoy your cruise!

all i wanted to know is if other people who vape have been gotten onto even if being respectful and discreet hence why i said vapers only but in true cruise critic fashion i get people who dont vape telling me crap that is not helpful and plain name calling and yes he did pretty much compare me to a pedophile, saying i need professional help after i am the one getting scolded like a child and etc etc etc just because i wanted to hear some experiences from people who vape. it is like if you wrote a post about the gelato and i said gelato is awful and people who eat it are idiots. how is that helpful? You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. This board is hehre to explore all things cruising not to attack people that do something you do not approve of. I am done with this

I did not judge or call you names. I don't smoke or vape, but just gave my impressions based on multiple trips on this ship to help you out.

I think that you missed the point where he said that he was respectful.

Bars and restaurants, no. We did see a few people vaping in bars on Divina and we did see some of them asked to stop. Admittedly a couple were not discreet and using the large chambers which emitt massive clouds of vapour. Outside on the deck didn't seem to be a problem.

In the cabin, as there is no smell or most importantly any fire risk how would anyone know?

WOW an actual answer THANK YOU for the insight

I've been a vaper for years, from the time you could only get the false ciggie things. I don't vape in any public area's that it's not allowed in. I do vape in my stateroom, as you've said there is no lingering pollutant or lasting odour in vaping, but I don't cloud chase, and I stealth vape on the balcony (if you don't know what it is look it up). If I'm in a smoking area I'll blow a cloud or two as it's allowed. Please don't screw up vaping for the rest of us it's hard enough to get peeps to understand the difference between smoking and vaping as it is.

Kev

EXACTLY i understand and agree. We do not cloud vape and it is hard for people to even understand that we only take on drag every 10 minutes or so , so going somwhere to vape is ridiculous because we would go into a smoking area take a 5 second drag and leave coming back every 10 minutes all day. i wish people really understood vaping like you do. We have the pens so we dont get but a small 2 second mist not even a cloud and we know how to make it totally invisble and the meaning of this post is so we wouldnt be so obvious and screw it up for others. so form what i am learning stay away from bars but what about empty hallways?

If I passed someone outside who was walking deck 7 I wouldn't be bothered. Interior though I'd say something. We stay out of smoking areas out of respect, so a smoker in a non-smoking area should show the same respect.

This is good to know too. Thank you

Altough I am not talking about smoking. I do understand. Outside areas easy

There are always people who throw their 2 cents worth in. Just because you do not like people that smoke or vape doesn't mean you have to berate them on a board where they are asking a question. Stick to the question. My wife smokes and I do not. However on all cruises we have been on she asks what their policy is and abides by it. We were on Princess the last cruise and they had a smoking area and a smoking bar outside. I would just say ask the cruise line their policy.

I could care less what you do at home. Vaping/smoking because you think the rules don't apply to you is selfish. Some people have asthma and other conditions that can be triggered by ignoring the rules. Just as you want to enjoy your trip others do as well, so smoke or vape in the designated areas.

I am a vaper and have done so on many ships, including MSC. I'll never understand how people can be so twisted out of shape by the thought that someone might be smoking, even though there is no odor or smoke with vape..

As long as you are discreet, you can vape anywhere. The crew doesn't enforce it unless someone complains. The crew will even allow smoking on your balcony, as long as you put the ashtray away.

So, enjoy your cruise.

I've been staunchly pro-vape because I have so many friends who were able to get off cigarettes with them (and no, there is no data yet concluding that "vaping is just as bad", so don't try it unless you have real studies to back it up, which you don't, and no, health blogs don't count).

All this said ...

The dudes running really high voltage or whatever and exhaling a 5' radius of steam around themselves/out of the car windows are really going to ruin it for the respectful users. So it goes, I guess.

People don't NEED to see your vapor cloud, brah.

SO TRUE we use small tank pens and not huge tanks we make small puffs not clouds and noone ever sees it usually. and we are respectful descreet meaning we arent gonna blow it in anyones face, we are not gonna fill up a room with clouds, and we are not gonna do it in a way you will even notice.

Yeah, that's the kind of user I'm friends with. I have a really good sense of smell and I can't smell their vapor unless we're in a small car with all the windows rolled up. These tools with the huge clouds are a new thing in my town lately.

To be honest my wife and I are avid vapers yet we kinda shake our heads at those cloud vapers. We vape because we enjoy it we dont vape to look cool.

However on all cruises we have been on she asks what their policy is and abides by it.

Which is great. However, some (not all) will ignore the policy.

People who follow the policy have nothing to worry about.

People who complain about those who are following the policy are wrong.

People who ignore the policy because they disagree with it or feel that it isn't a problem are wrong.

It isn't as simple as "We did it even though it's against policy but nobody complained.....so it's OK."

Well no you are not respectful, if you were you wouldn't ignore the smoking policy.

You just want to vape where ever, when ever you want, because it's convenient for you. Be honest and just admit that and people might take you seriously.

So let see.... I am ignoring a SMOKING policy by discreetly vaping in a way noone would even know? I AM NOT SMOKING this is what bothers me more than anyting people DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE so it leads me to believe they either love being ignorant and want to remain that way or that just like to complain. I am going to wear jeans on formal night does that anger you too? Telling me to follow a policy for SMOKING because there is NO I MEAN ZERO policy for vaping is stupid ignorant and your just doing it to stir up things. I bet you follow every single policy everywhere you go? Never speed always drive the speed limit YOUR A SAINT? LOOK either get educated or go away

if you want people to folSMOKING policy when they vape then you should also use inhalers in the smoking section if you have Asama AND you should follow the smoking policy if you drink too. IT IS THAT STUPID in the reality of things.

YOUR NOT RESPECTFUL anyone on here trying to say follow a policy tat doesnt apply is not respectful I am so done with tis thread.

There is no arguing with people--a lot of them really believe they can smell/react to a tiny puff of vapor at fifty feet, and that it's the same exact thing (and the same smell?!) as cigarettes. There is literally nothing you can do about the ones who think this way, so there's no point getting into with them.
