lucyintheskywithdiamonds Posted September 23, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2017 it's good to hear that you're safe. Is NCL compensating for this in any way? were a lot of the festivities cancelled onboard, or did they just bring the party inside?
brandid82 Posted September 23, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2017 Is the charge for Margaritaville still $14.99 per person or a la carte? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rare mking8288 Posted September 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2017 How's the sea conditions now (earlier today ??) How fast is BA doing ? Did the Capt. set a westward heading toward the Carolina and then turn north, staying closer to the coastline coming back to NYC ? Anything special being served at O'Sheehan's - i.e. prime ribs, lamb & bbq ribs, seafood basket, etc. Have a great cruise & safe crossing, hopefully it will be even calmer on Saturday - last full sea day. Starbored41 Posted September 23, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted September 23, 2017 Despite the weather and our shortened stay in Bermuda, the crew have really made this trip enjoyable. I’ve cruised on Carnival and Princess in the past and haven’t received service like this. The weather conditions (rain, wind, and large sea swells) forced many outdoor activities to be closed for safety, but the crew made sure there was plenty going on inside. We initially made a reservation for a show on Monday that was cancelled due to the weather (excessive boat rocking) but they automatically reserved our seats for the next scheduled showing so we didn’t have to do a thing. Starbored41 Posted September 23, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted September 23, 2017 Ship speed is 11.7 knots. Wave height 14.8 feet (Rough Mounting Sea) Wind speed: 10.2 mph - as of 7:56 AM. I have a picture of our course that will help answer questions. We still took a diagonal course on the way back but are more Westbound. We will then shoot straight up to NYC. We took quite a different route heading to Bermuda as we were trying to keep a 325 mile radius away from the storm (Jose). We traveled Eastbound and then went Southbound in order to beat the storm. The waves we encountered were still large and the boat was-a-rockin’ but nowhere like it could have been, I suppose. Jose is still churning off coast of MA I guess. The captain made an announcement on Tuesday night at around 5PM that our trip to Bermuda would be shortened a day. We would now have to be on ship by 5PM on Thursday. boscobeans Posted September 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 23, 2017 Keep safe, this may help give you an idea as to what is ahead: http://www.surfline.com/surfdata/chart_viewer/?chart=natlwave&id=2950 One goofy question if you have time to respond: I was wondering if they have changed the type of coffee maker in the Breakaway rooms recently? What type is it and does it make one or two cups at a time ( one or two pods )???? Thanks and hope the seas calm down some. bosco

The quality of coffee improves depending on where you get it from. The buffet coffee was bleh, but the coffee at dinner or lunch was much better. The coffee maker they supply in each room is a Hamilton Beach model HDC200S-CE. http://www.hamiltonbeachcommercial.com/en/deluxe-1-cup-coffee-maker-hdc200s.html Thanks for the link! Hope this helps. PelicanBill Posted September 23, 2017 #13 Share Posted September 23, 2017 ***** $14.99 per person Thanks for the reports! And welcome to the hurricane club. (Itineraries altered by hurricanes. We were on the not-Bermuda Breakaway last year.) So how does Margaritaville work? You pay $14.99 per person and you can have... what? And what is there to drink with that? Rare mking8288 Posted September 24, 2017 #15 Share Posted September 24, 2017 Welcome home to NYC early ... as in later tonight / earlier tomorrow morning ;p - thank you for sharing the ship's voyage info & taking time to post and answer questions, very much appreciated. Ship has been in range of AIS data and tracking range for last 2 hours, as expected & reported, sailing northward off coastal Atlantic City & off the waters of Toms River / Barnegat, NJ ... slowly cruising at 11 knots, with perhaps 40 to 45 n.m. to MCT. Reported ETA is 06:00 UTC or about 2 AM EDT ... (+ another hour or two if she's going to a figure 8 spin ... if seas are calm enough, or else - better off start closing down the casino & put into the pier so that folks can get some sleep & not rock-n-roll) Morning disembarkation would definitely be a breeze and early ... the next group of BA pax probably will be dodging their way at a distance from Maria, as that hurricane is expected to

And what is there to drink with that? —— Argh, sorry to hear that you experienced some hurricane related issues also. Regarding Margaritaville.... we poked our heads in a few times to survey the scene. It didn’t look very crowded. The menu is the same as listed here: http://www.beyondships2.com/uploads/8/2/4/5/8245255/222_margaritaville.pdf I think the cover charge allows you to get whatever you’d like for as much as you’d like. We never tried it, unfortunately. We traveled with a very active toddler who didn’t like sit down meals for lunch.

skeeter195 Posted September 25, 2017 #20 Share Posted September 25, 2017 We used a dining credit each at the raw bar 3 weeks ago and paid $7 each for my son and I. We had a lobster each, 10 shrimp, 18 oysters, ceviche, yellowtail, crudo, and abalogne that was on special. The bill came and it was $186 but they forgot to use our dining credit. It was adjusted and it only cost us $16.52.
