making an early flight post-cruise

You should be able to make an 11:55 flight- but you should do the walk-off -- and take a taxi rather than cruise line transfer.

Thanks Navybanker teacher! I think that’s what we will do. We were planning on using a taxi or Uber. I’ll also look into downloading the customs app to expedite the whole process.

Why take a HAL transfer on a smelly, overpriced, old Greyhound bus when you can jump in a cab, leave immediately, and get to the airport in some degree of comfort.

Cruise line transfers to/from MIA and FLL are a bit of a rip off and from what I can see the buses are like some of HAL's ships.....they should have been reitred years ago.

I have an 11:40 flight (booked thru HAL) after my cruise ending Dec 2 in Ft Lauderdale. Need suggestions / reassurances on the speediest way to get off the ship and to the airport to make my flight (international). Thanks.

This is important if you are disembarking from a TA (since there are a lot of non-US passport holders on those ships): Canadian passport holders are always allowed to use the US passport holder line. Barring that, a NEXUS pass allows you to use the Global Entry line.

It's been a couple years since I took a Hal transfer but I don't recall them being old and smelly :p. I wouldn't say riding in a cab in Fort Lauderdale would really qualify as a deluxe experience:loudcry:. I thought a transfer was included with a Hal flight purchase but I may be thinking of a Hal hotel purchase. I do agree a cab is the best idea from port Everglades.
