Pre cruise hotel Fort Lauderdale

There are no bad or so-so hotels on 17th street. We stayed at all of the mentioned hotels and never had a complaint. Most have a shuttle to the port(small fee?), free breakfast, restaurants, ect. Many to choose from so do some research as to your needs and budget!

We priced up for the Spring and found the rates significantly higher than two years ago and have decided to try a self catering option instead (Marriott Beach Place Towers) ....Bigger room with balcony and sea view, lots of nearby options for breakfast and dinner....hope it is OK, always risky trying somewhere new.....

Beach Place is a timeshare and we are owners there. We have always have great experiences staying there. You either have an ocean view or an intercoastal view...depending on the side of the hotel that you are assigned. The "hotel" room has a small refer/microwave. The one bedroom unit has a full kitchen, washer/dryer. Lots of great restaurants close by...H20 is one of our favorites also Coconuts. We will be staying at Beach Place prior to our April cruise.

We also love Marriott Harbor Beach. This is a resort hotel and you really need to stay there more than one night to really appreciate the location.

We have stayed at 17th Hyatt which can usually be had at a discount price if you use a specific website. Enjoyed it on at least 3 precruise nights! Spent one precruise night at a Holiday Inn on points but no place to Eat! Will be staying at the Residence Inn for our next cruise, one night on points and one not. Plus a Holiday Inn back in 2009! Preference would be the Hyatt as the price is right, breakfast is included and the taxi price to the port is quite reasonable.

Thanks for the information...We have booked a one bedroom unit for a couple of nights. Can you confirm if there is a water taxi stop at the back? Also can you recommend a nearby supermarket to buy a few provisions.

Thanks.
