Milkshakes and non alcoholic drinks for kids

I get the free drinks card in the casino. I don't drink and order a few bottles of water during the cruises, while gambling, for myself. I'll also order free water for my wife or daughter when they are in the casino with me maybe an alcohol free cocktail for them too. No one has said anything to me and I am pretty blatant about it.

I was at Kroger today and bought some milk. They charge waaaaay too much for milk. The prices are super inflated.... so I took a small carton for my kid to drink in the store... they meant for me to do that; if they didn’t charge so much for a gallon milk I would have paid for the carton too....

The logic is silly when applied to anything else. When you pay for all YOU can drink it’s just that. They aren’t secretly including all your kid can drink too

Wake up. The price charged is based on what the cruise line expects to dole out. Part of that price is for drinks consumed by others.

They already charge you for it.

If you don't agree with their approach, direct your complaint to the cruise line. They'd rather build their prices this way and have a really good idea of how often it happens. They value even those customers you may "disapprove" of.

Do you think they lose one dime on this?

I agree... they have figured out the cheaters and built it in the price.

1 - that proves that if people would STOP CHEATING , the price would be lower

2 - If they start getting lower profits from this, they will re-evaluate and if they calculate cheating is worse they will raise the prices without issue

they dont lose a dime and never will. they will keep increasing the price as more people cheat. the people that use the program fairly are the ones getting hurt

I plan on just getting my kids one fancy drink a day. They will have the bottomless bubbles package as well.

They will busy having to much fun on the ship

I’m not getting the cheers package. I’ll be bringing my 3 bottles of wine. One per person and I’ll buy a drink when i go dancing. I really don’t drink that much. I may buy one fancy drink a day and I don’t drink coffee or sodas

Just once it would be GREAT to click on a CHEERS thread and actually learn something about the cheers program instead of slogging through page after page of people arguing about morality. Take your arguments somewhere else and let new cruisers LEARN something! (and you all wonder why people ask a new question instead of just searching the boards!)

AND yes - I do see the irony that I have now added to the thread clutter

These threads Crack me up. If you plan to get your kid a shake, get it. Don't discuss it on social media.

As far as I'm concerned, Carnival should come up with a non alcoholic package that includes milkshakes and mocktails. Why does everything have to be geared towards alcohol. For the money we spend buying milkshakes and bottled water for both kids, I know we would benefit from a package. Doesn't take much to create packages for all types of drinkers, but Carnival lacks evolving in many areas. Meanwhile, people will find ways to work around the rules. That's just reality.

I think if they had something out there like you describe it would price many people out of it. I'm fairly confident that one of the reasons they switched to an enhanced Cheers program was to satisfy people that were wanting something that included more than just soda.

Don't agree with that. The changes were good if you were inclined to buy the package to begin with, but I don't know anyone that would pay what's now $60 a day for a package (if you get it in advance) if they didn't drink alcohol/wine/beer also. It takes nothing away from anyone to offer a package beyond cheers or bubbles. And they could still make buying cheers mandatory for all passengers over 21. Why anyone would have a beef with that is beyond me.

Are you a new cruiser because if not, aren't you doing exactly the same thing you're complaining about?

Did you not read the note? To make that kind of judgmental comment without even reading it?

You are a terrible example to your children.

Oh please. Yes I read it, and just by adding you realized blah, blah, blah doesn't negate anything.

Again. I am someone who doesn't drink alcohol but I do enjoy some mock cocktails on cruise so yes why do I have to pay the same price as people who are getting alcohol with their drinks?

I for one don't think it's fair that I don't drink alcohol but in order to get the package for mock cocktails I have to pay the same price as people who drink alcohol. So yes I do believe that this should be a package for non-alcoholic drinks and it should be a little cheaper.

Yet you posted another note about the same thing. More clutter.

Which are you - a hypocrite, or one of those people with nothing better to do than argue over things that don't affect you?

Or both.

It would only be a little cheaper. I truly feel it would be more than the majority of people would want to pay and they would just bitch about it.

Very reasonable. I know Carnival is always evaluating and evolving. Let's hope for those that are looking for different packages Carnival goes that route eventually. If not, those that are looking for more choices switch to RC.

I agree that there should be a middle of the road package for mocktails and milkshakes and stuff. It probably wouldnt be too much cheaper but there should be an option. I would even say they could make a program that allowed one cheers and one 'mocktail' in a 2 person cabin.
