cold_beer_in_hand Posted January 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2018 I was wondering how the nightlife is on the Epic? Traveling with some friends and we are in our early to mid 20's. I'm worried that it might be a bit of an older crowd or more low key at night given it is not a big vacation week.
ja2nowak Posted January 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2018 It's really hard to guess. On our cruise in December it was a mixed crowd for the Spice H20 events, then the late night party in Bliss was a younger set complete with music for the younger crowd. How busy it is varies night to night depending on the days activities, evening themes, and how tired people are. Some nights it was packed some nights not so much and there would maybe be 6 people on the floor.
cold_beer_in_hand Posted January 11, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2018 Thank you for the reply every experience helps with gauging the atmosphere. Our cruise is 02/03 and we have 2 at sea days so I was kinda hoping those days would be more lively at least. Do you happen to know if the white party is as fun as it is hyped up to be? Vyhanek Posted January 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2018 You will be very surprised at how lively it is! NCL has always been similar to Royal Caribbean as far as demographics and nightlife. Certainly less than say Carnival but with the party crowd on Carnival comes lots of wife beaters, bare beer bellies, head to toe tattoos.....these are your options. With the recent drink package inclusion, I have noticed he party level on NCL ships to be very lively. The outdoor, evening pool deck parties have live music, loud live music and lots of happy people of all ages. I don't think you will find a ship more lively actually. Not even on Carnival. It's going to be as lively as cruising gets!
ja2nowak Posted January 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2018 It's now the "Glow" party complete with face paint, glow sticks, etc. It's really is a lot of fun. I would recommend getting there a little early if you want to partake in the face painting and what not. But the dance area in SpiceH20 was full as were the different levels. The bar line was 3 deep that night.
MikeBTN Posted January 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2018 NCL and Carnival generally have the most lively night life of the cruise lines. You won’t be bored.
cold_beer_in_hand Posted January 11, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted January 11, 2018 awesome feedback thank you all for the insights! Yea I don't have any trouble with tattoos or how people choose to dress, but I wasn't looking for anything super rowdy. I'm excited to hear that there is a good turnout at night at the bars and the live music. I was just looking for a crowd of people looking to have fun and to meet some new faces. jtdlmc Posted January 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 11, 2018 I will be on the same sailing, sounds like we are probably a little older though, but we still like to have fun[emoji2]. Our first time on NCL too. We've been on Royal Caribbean and Carnival previously. Take for granted what some people say about Carnival. It is not full of rowdy, wife beater, partiers as some tend to want people to believe lol those who say such things have probably never been on a Carnival cruise[emoji23]. Carnival, RCI and NCL are more the same then different with many walks of life on each. It is when you get into Princess, HAL, Oceaniana, etc., that you will find a much more subdued atmosphere. paradiseawaitsme Posted January 12, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 12, 2018 My Sister and I are also on this sailing and looking forward to having a blast on the Epic. Not in our 20s any more but still young enough to love having fun. LOL. Our first cruise was the Celebrity Reflection February 2015 and we found it a little boring with little to do that interested us. So we decided to try NCL Breakaway October that same year and we were hooked. This will be our 4th NCL cruise, the Escape being the other ship we cruised October 2016 and 2017, and have never been disappointed. Really excited about Epic. 23 days. Can't wait :D

Sent from my iPad using Forums I actually managed to have plenty of fun on Princes in my early 20's! Luckily a few family members meant we already had a fun group - we then collected the remaining few 20 year olds and had a blast. NCL is obviously MUCH more fun. Both of my trips Escape and Dawn there were tons of people in their twenties. I've found that nights BEFORE the Sea Days tend to be the latest nights since no one has to be up early functioning for an excursion the next day. My friends and I are turning 30 this year and we are cruising on the Epic the first weekend in March. I would LOVE for anyone to come to this thread with pictures and reports on night life! THANKS! The bars and entertainment venues are always packed full, into the wee hours of the morning. Personally, we enjoyed the Cascades Bar at the Casino, which was an epicenter for people-watching as everyone headed out to the bars and shows. You'll have a blast!! Mingle and make your own party! We loved the Epic and had an "epic" time! Edited January 15, 2018 by CincyJen
cold_beer_in_hand Posted January 15, 2018 Author #14 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Thank you for the suggestion of the Cascades I'll have to make sure to check it out! has anyone organized any bar crawls or smaller party meet-ups at a specific bar on the cruise and had any luck with it? Have you found your roll call yet? This is where you can meet others sailing on your cruise and see what other events have been planned.
cold_beer_in_hand Posted January 15, 2018 Author #16 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Yes I did get signed up for roll call but was looking more for others' experiences and stories regarding how easy it was or if they ran into any logistical issues? I know the Superbowl will be going on during my cruise on the Epic and was thinking about that scenario mostly.
baronast Posted January 15, 2018 #17 Share Posted January 15, 2018 The wife and I were on the Epic the week before Christmas. The sports that where shown are from one channel that mostly broadcast soccer. They don’t have ABC,NBC, Fox or ESPN. I would think they would have the super bowl in o Sheehan’s but get a seat early. They had 2 NFL games on Sunday but no college football that Saturday which upset some. Enjoy the Epic, the best advice I can say is make sure you book everything in advance or as soon as you board. I was on the epic on the 20th Jan sailing. There was a party of 16 of us tattoos and all;p) and we love to let loose being very sociable. I've been on Carnival and NCL and I preferred the night life options on NCL. The glow party was moved in doors on our sailing to bliss as the seas were choppy but it was good although died off around 12ish. Dance tubes were pretty decent and I was a regular to Ibiza :) so had expectations of an Ibiza style dance party. We spent a couple of nights in Bliss until 3am-ish. It was a hood atmosphere. The 70s disco at Spice was brilliant people of all ages just having a hood time. Also has a great time in howl at the moon, Priscilla and cirque. We were there for my 40th (age is still just a number... for a wee while yet🤣)
