teamflames Posted February 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Hi we are doing an NCl Panama Canal cruise followed by a TA, so will have the day in Miami which we have never visited before (except for a stay in the hospital). I think we would just like to hang around south beach for the day. Are there buses from the port or even HOHO? Appreciate any feedback Sent from my iPad using Forums
JohninDC Posted February 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2018 There are several hop-on/off bus tours that you can catch -- closest stop from POM is likely Bayside Market. You can Uber to SB from POM for the day - lunch, beach, drinks, people watching, etc. I envy you for having enough time off to take two great cruises B2B -- one of these days I'll get there. ;)
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2018 I too would use Uber and have them take you to South Beach. It will be easier then changing modes of transport at Bayside. Have a great time. Keith
BNBR Posted February 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2018 There is a hop on/hop off, but this is very different than just hanging out at South Beach. How much walking do you want to do? I'd suggest getting dropped off at South Pointe Park, walk the park and the water, pier, etc. Then wander Ocean Drive and connect to Lincoln Rd. You will have seen pretty much the hot spots on South Beach if you do that.

teamflames Posted February 22, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted February 22, 2018 sorry also meant to ask - approx how much should an uber cost between the port and south beach?
JohninDC Posted February 22, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2018 Depending upon where you are planning to be dropped off in SB, about $12-14 each way not including any tip.
BNBR Posted February 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 22, 2018 thanks all - we love walking and would be preferable to a HOHO (unless we are going to miss some major sights). You will miss the major sites outside of South Beach. But for south beach alone, you don't need a bus or guide.
Grant2000 Posted February 25, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 25, 2018 The hoho bus is a good thing to do on a B2B days. The company that we used had three bus routes covering Miami and Miami Beach plus a boat tour of Biscayne Bay. It was a day well-spent. http://miamiflorida.ca/transportation/
