AMEX Offer: Spend $500 on Carnival, get $100 statement credit

The last couple of years, the Amex-World's Leading Cruise Lines offer of $500/$100 has been made available early in the year then again late in the year. I don't know if that pattern will hold for 2018/2019 but I would not be surprised if it did, in fact, I'm hoping that happens.

Just got off the phone with AMEX Travel and was told if the offer is not shown on my card account, it is not available to me. Bummer. But good going for those of you who snagged the $75!

That is what I thought. I couldn't remember when we used it on our last cruise but I thought it was earlier in the year. Now we have to decide whether to wait and hope they offer again or eat ramen for months. LOL ;p

I certainly would never encourage anyone to pay interest on a credit card, but you could see if AMEX will give you a promotional rate on new purchases. And even if you have to pay a few dollars in interest, it could be worth it to get $75 off (or maybe $150 if two cards) on your cruise.

 

Of course, if the $100/500 WLCL offer would be sufficient for your payment needs, then the question of whether to wait for it is harder.
