recommended accomodations near tampa cruise port

would appreciate any recommendations for hotels near Tampa cruise port with nearby dining and shopping available. thanks

Embassy Suites is very nice.

Lots of hotels near TPA airport in the WestShore area - International Mall is nearby as well as several dining & shopping options. Taxi to the port will be about $27 or Uber for just under $20

 

Rocky Point is a nicer area with several hotels and dining options, but not much for shopping. Several of the hotels offer cruise packages including airport and port shuttles. Same taxi/Uber rates apply if you prefer your own schedule.

You will want the one downtown next to the Convention center if you want the closest to the port.

 

We also like the Marriott Waterside...which is right across the street from the Embassy Suites. Very nice hotel right on the water.

Embassy Suites is nice- the trolley picks up right in front on it. Or we like Ybor City- Hampton Inn- lots of fun to start the cruise! They have a shuttle that will take or pick you up from the cruise port. The terminal is actually at the foot of Ybor City. Ybor City is the Cuban area- lots of cigar stores, Mojito bars, and the Columbia restaurant. We had a pre-cruise M&G there once before our cruise with 20 from cc- it was great!

Do you or anyone know anything about the shuttle that operates from the Hampton Inn & Suites Ybor City to and from the port, such as hours it operates, how do you arrange for it and do you have to book a cruise & stay type rate?
