When are Rooms Available?

My memory is horrible and I can’t recall if rooms are generally available upon boarding or if it could be awhile.

We boarded our last cruise around 1:30 pm for a 4 pm sail and the rooms were available shortly after 2 pm.

On our last couple of cruises out of NYC our rooms were ready 1:30ish. Luggage arrived between 4:30 and 6:00.

It also depends upon cabin/suite category.

 

Typically, the suites are available earlier than most regular cabins, etc.

But this may not be the case 100% of the time.

Ok. So, we’ll just plan that it could be awhile. We’ll be certain to have our swimsuits on us [emoji16]

We board as soon as possible with only small carry-ons and immediately go to the MDR that is open for lunch, we have paid for it after all. Then we have a very slow and lazy lunch in an almost empty dining room. By the time we have finished there is usually time for a walk round to do some "business" and by then we often find the rooms are available. Ant time from 1.30 to 2.30 would be the norm; but it depends on the arrival time of the previous voyage and the efficiency of the stewards.

The cabins are usually available by the time we finish our lunch in the MDR.

Rooms typically ready around 1:30. Luggage can arrive before rooms are ready or as late as 7:00 p.m. Usually luggage is there by 3:00 or so.
