Langoustine Posted August 19, 2018 #26 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Is uber and lyft not a good option from EWR to the Manhattan cruise port and back from cruise port to EWR? Try Uber, Lyft, Dial 7 and Carmel. See who is cheapest. Book that one.

Is there someplace to compare all of them at once or do you have to quote each one individually? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
138east Posted August 20, 2018 #28 Share Posted August 20, 2018 (edited) As far as I know you have to quote each one individually. Be sure you understand the quote. Car services quote a base rate. To that add tolls plus a tip of 18-20% on the base rate. I don't know how Uber and Lyft handle tolls. Their base rate is supposed to include tip. With interstate trips Uber and Lyft from NJ might be out of their comfort zone and have no way of getting return trips if they're not approved for both NY and NJ pickups. Dial 7 and Carmellimo are licensed in NJ, NY, and CT, have a large fleet, and are accustomed to doing interstate transport. I think the tipping has changed, you can add a tip through the app.
nini Posted August 20, 2018 Author #30 Share Posted August 20, 2018 Last January, we were able to pay our Uber driver with a cash tip (from LAX to Long Beach). This was our first Uber experience and it was very positive.
