seaandsea Posted August 31, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2018 Our cruise lets us off in San Diego, our flight does not leave till 5:30. We would love to visit the San Diego Zoo. Any easy way to get transportation to the zoo and still make it back to the airport in time?
Northern Aurora Posted August 31, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2018 Have you considered renting a car? That option would also allow for luggage storage.
seaandsea Posted August 31, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted August 31, 2018 Thats a great idea. I am not sure how to find a car rental with shuttle to the port. Any info on that?
Northern Aurora Posted August 31, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2018 The cruise terminal is so close to the airport that even if no airport based car rental company offers a shuttle from cruise terminal to their car lot the fare for a taxi or uber cab't be much. greatestvalue Posted August 31, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2018 Enterprise in Little Italy area of San Diego may pick you up.
cruiseaholic78 Posted August 31, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2018 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=56921115 Maybe this might help for your luggage and then just get a taxi. Rosalyn
riffatsea Posted August 31, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 31, 2018 The cruise port is in downtown San Diego. The airport is barely 2miles away. It is about a $10 Uber or Lyft ride from one to the other. The zoo and Balboa Park are barely 2 miles from the port as well. IF you can get rid of your luggage you can get to the zoo quite easily by uber/lyft or bus. Otherwise renting your own car gives you a place to hide your luggage in the trunk.
