Thank you for this very helpful explanation. Sounds like a raw deal. I am going to cancel my casino promo offer and use my OBC on something else.

I was just thinking the same thing.  I'll probably keep the slot promo, but cut my chip promo in half.  Making all of the chips promo chips puts too much pressure on making sure you cycle through all of them.

I have not done one of these buy-in bonus deals before but I have had free play on my seapass many times in various forms (converting from points, prize from casino event or my Blue Chip Club tier status money). They all operate the same way though from my understanding. The amount of money is loaded on your card. You put in your pin number and it takes you to a screen to ask how much you want to download to a machine and it will show you how much you have available. If you have done one of these buy-in with a bonus promos then you should see the total amount, your buy-in plus the bonus amount, on your seapass card when you put in your pin. If you don't see the total amount then you should be going to the host or the cashier and asking them to fix it. And if you are getting an error in accessing any of that money and transferring it to a machine then again you should be going to the host or cashier to fix it. It's a very easy process to transfer money from your account to a slot machine. Once you put it into a slot then once you have played through the initial amount you added then any other money you have left on the machine is cashable. Example: You put $20 in the machine. You bet $2 per spin. After 10 spins you have finished playing through the casino credit. Whatever money is left on the machine at that point (which would be your winnings above the initial $20) is yours to freely cash out. If you had only done 5 spins at the $2 bet and decided to cash out, there would still be $10 left on the machine that you would have to play through.

As far as points are concerned, the standard rule is that when you download any free play from your card to a machine, while you are playing on that money you do not earn any points. So going back to my example above. Those first 10 spins at $2 per spin would earn zero player points. Once you have passed that mark then all additional spins played on your remaining amount of money on that machine will earn points because you are now playing with your money not house money. My understanding on these buy-in with bonus offers (based on fine print I read for one of these offers while on a recent cruise) is that the total amount loaded onto your card (both your buy-in and the bonus) will not earn you any points while you play. It will work just like the example I made above. So say you buy-in $100 and get $10 free. The $110 will be loaded on your card and then you transfer those amounts to a slot machine as you play. The entirety of that $110 is not cashable including the $100 you bought in with. It is treated like any other free play they load on your card. So if you transfer all $110 to a machine and do 11 spins at $10 per spin then you will not start earning points on any money until you have completed those 11 spins. Since all forms of free play loaded on your card all operate the same way (that I'm aware of) then I don't see how they could track points on $100 of the $110 loaded on your card, especially if there were other amounts of free play loaded on your card; it all gets combined into one total.

Question..... When you transfer money to the slot machine, does it automatically transfer promo credit or do you have to choose to transfer promo credit or real cash?

Also, it seems the smart way to play is to ensure that you only play promo credit on slots until it is all used up.  Is there a way to  manage this other than to transfer all of you promo credit to the machine each time you play?

I know there was some sort of promo credit button you select. I forget what the other option was called, "personal bank" maybe? So yes, you can choose to play promo credit before playing any money you may have added to your personal bank. You also decide the amount of money you want to transfer. Be careful when transferring promo credit to a machine as once you do you have to play it out. So only transfer the amount of money you actually want to play on one machine. You can always transfer more if you play through your first amount. You just don't want to have a situation where you transfer $200 of promo credit to one machine and then decide after playing $20 that you want to change machines. You can't cash out the rest of the promo credit, and I don't think you can transfer it back to your card either; haven't tried that last part myself so someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

for some random reason i had to remove my seapass card from the slot machine i was playing with that few dollars they gave out for free, and the credit shown on the machine became zero right away

i thought i must have lost them, but found out that the credit went back into the card

so i suspect that one would always need to play with seapass card inserted while playing with promo credit loaded to the machine already, and they shouldnt be confiscating your promo credit if you pull the seapass card out (accidentally, or to get a drink on your BP, etc.)

So just 2x odds? 😞

do you get points for the odds bet?

ie: $10 passline, $20 odds should get you 3.75 points per roll if the casino counts all $30 of that bet

No, its actually 3,4,5 times odds which is actually pretty good.  I was just using double odds as an example for house advantage.  Some of the people in the pit count the odds and some don't, it really depends on who you get.  Most land based casinos don't count the odds bets though.  My last cruise I played for a week and got about 25k blue club tier points for the table play so I think they at least counted some of the odds.

25k points?

it takes $8 for 1 point on tables so you gambled through $200k?

how much did you put down on the pass line?

and how many hrs did you play ?
