NYC to Newark

I know I am early on this considering my cruise is still a year away - but what can I say, I love to pre-plan the heck out of my cruises.

 

Anyway, will be on the Gem arriving NYC on Feb 14 - currently the best flights back to home depart around 3:30PM from Newark. My question is does NCL run a shuttle service between the pier and Newark and does anybody have an idea of the cost vs say a cab or uber?

 

On the embarkation day we will be flying direct from PDX to SFO and currently plan on using the NCL shuttle to the pier. We have a selection of at least 3 different flights so plan on taking the earliest one and hope SFO is not fogged in. We can't leave any earlier as this cruise is burning all our vacation time at 21 days.

There is a bus from port authority bus terminal, a few blocks from pier, that goes direct to Newark airport. Pretty quick run.

Cab to Penn station and NJ transit train to the airport.

Yes NCL had a shuttle to Newark when I was on the Gem in Dec. It could only be booked on board. It was $45pp

If there is more than one if you, uber or even car service will be cheaper.

We take the bus. It's super easy and cheap. It's a direct shuttle, so no other stops.

I always use Super Shuttle shared ride between Newark Airport and Pier 88. I think the price is around $35pp, but if you have AAA it’s even cheaper.
