Shiprin Posted January 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2019 Does anyone know of any cool cruises down the Mekong river or had any postive (or hilariously negative) experiences they'd like to share?
Rebel54 Posted January 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2019 If you search there are a couple threads on this topic. One especially long one with lots of good info and pics. I am actually heading out on mine 3 April with Avalon.

suspaul Posted January 19, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2019 We traveled with Avalon 3 years ago to Vietnam and Cambodia, this was land and a 7 night Mekong cruise, it was amazing. Very small group of 28, we loved everything about it. We’ve been itching to return and will do an independent land trip back to Vietnam later this year. CanEcosse Posted January 19, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2019 I would highly recommend Avalon Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City. We did it first week in November 2018. Small, comfortable boat, 18 cabins, great food, well organized excursions, super cruise director and guides.

foodpolice Posted February 9, 2019 #8 Share Posted February 9, 2019 We went on a 19 day, Vietnam & Cambodia Explorer & Mekong River Cruise in April 2018 on the M/V Mekong Navigator, by Emerald Waterways. In my opinion, it was the best ocean/river/land tour package that we have ever been on. Emerald put on a good itinerary where we saw & experienced a lot of history & culture. In any event, enjoy your planning & upcoming trip.
Rare TLCOhio Posted February 9, 2019 #9 Share Posted February 9, 2019 Appreciate these earlier mentions and follow-ups featuring my live/blog. Below is another connection for those many pictures and the detailed postings. As an encouragement, below are just a few sample visuals. It's an amazing and interesting part of the world with wonderful people. Plus, it tends to be much warmer over in the southern part of Vietnam, Cambodia, etc., than we are encountering now in the Midwest and Northeast U.S. Feel free on that live/blog to ask any and all questions. Happy to share more and hear your info needs. Don't be shy!! THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio SE Asia/Mekong River, Etc.! Live/blog from early 2018, first adventure through SE Asia, stops in Hong Kong and Bangkok, before exploring all over Vietnam and Cambodia, seven days sailing on the Mekong River. Now at 43,389 views. www.boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2591474 Here are just a few visuals samples from what we saw and did with Avalon while sailing along the Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia. Many, many more photos and details on the full live/blog.: (Open your screen/viewer wider to see these pictures larger/better!) We saw many temples, palaces, markets and samples of daily life/work, including at this below spectacular Royal structure in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.:
