Lastest notice on ELWIS:

Für den 27.02.2021 und 28.02.2021 ist die Überführung des außergewöhnlich großen Werftschiffes "Odyssey oft he Seas" auf der Seeschifffahrtsstraße Ems von Papenburg nach See geplant.

For Feb 27th and 28th, 2021 there´s planned the river conveyance of the extraordinary large shipyard ship "Odyssey of the Seas" on the Ems river from Papenburg to the sea.

O.k., I missed out the word "Seeschifffahrtsstraße" - a very special German word "sea shipping road".

So my educated guess... it will start late in the evening and go overnight.

I think the conveyance is really happening. This screenshot is from a website that posts shipping notices. It says something about there being hindrance for other ships on the river Ems due to the conveyance. (my German is not so good sorry).

I will try to be there and take pictures and video. Any recommendations for a good place to see it?

Appreciate any images that you capture.

Out in the fields along the way seems to be a safe bet.

There must be sheep & cows in the photo. I think every conveyance has had them. 🙂

Schedule from this article:
https://leer.leserecho.de/blog/2021/02/26/odyssey-of-the-seas-startet-zur-emsueberfuehrung/

The Odyssey of the Seas will make the voyage in the direction of the North Sea backwards again and with the support of two tugs.  This type of transfer has proven itself due to its better maneuverability.  The following schedule applies to the Emspassage, which may change at short notice depending on the weather and tide conditions:

 Saturday, February 27, 2021

03:30 a.m. ship in waiting position (Papenburg)

04:00 a.m. Passing the dock lock (Papenburg)

8:45 a.m. passing the Friesenbrücke (Weener)

 12:00 p.m. Passing the Jann-Berghaus-Bridge (Leer)

 Sunday, February 28, 2021

 00:30 a.m. Passage Emssperrwerk (Gandersum)

3.30 a.m. The ship turns at Emden

All information is subject to the wind and weather conditions, the water levels and therefore without guarantee.  Time shifts are possible at short notice!

Great video!

With the Seaplex now featuring Playmakers on the upper level, will there still be table tennis and video games on the other side of the upper level? Also will there still be a Dog House food truck on the lower level?
