Blitzburggirl Posted February 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2019 I've sailed out of various ports in Fl and it's usually pretty straight forward. For this cruise on the Getaway in April, we sail out of "New York, New York." Well dang. That's a pretty big, crowded, and congested place. Where is the port? What is in good proximity?? I'd also love to find a stay and sail. Book a room for Friday night, and leave the car parked there for the week. Any suggestions? I've also never sailed Norwegian. I've used Carnival's Faster to the Fun.. and it was fantastic! I'd like to get on board, and have time to try to get Vibe access. I don't care if the rooms are ready or not. What time is the earliest to arrive to the the ship? Thank you all!!
ksmcdonald Posted February 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2019 This is where we stay when sailing out of NYC. Cruise, Park Package:
Rare Turtles06 Posted February 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2019 NCL sails from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. https://www.nycruise.com/ A great place to post your non-NCL-specific questions and do research on hotels, etc. is over on the East Coast Departures board, at the link below. I'm pretty certain you won't find "park and cruise" options in Manhattan. I believe there are some in NJ; this is often discussed on the East Coast Departures board, and you should be able to get info there. (When sailing from Manhattan, we find that parking at the Cruise Terminal is the most convenient option -- disembark and be in your car in minutes.) https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/317-east-coast-departures/ Enjoy your cruise! mjkacmom Posted February 20, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2019 There are a few in NJ, otherwise you park at the pier for $40 per day (and you will probably pay over $50 to park if you spend the night in the city). We typically get to the pier around 9:45 and our boarding group is in the 20’s, and there are few seats in the terminal left with the big ships (Gem was fine). This doesn't affect the OP, but FYI there are two April, 2019 cruises on the Norwegian Jade that NCL's website has departing from Brooklyn, although nycruise.com lists them as departing from Manhattan. Also ncl.com has two April, 2020 cruises on the Norwegian Star departing from Brooklyn.
