On board credit

I was wondering if someone could update me on the rules for onboard credit. I understand that the onboard credit you receive from Oceania is not cashable and you can't take any unspent amounts home. If I received some onboard credit from my travel agent, can I cash it out and take it with me at the end of the cruise?

Thanks

Mia

I believe that the TA OBC is refundable.  Ship OBC is not.  But it is true that when you check in you will have some postcards showing any OBC, tours booked, etc., and it will be clearly stated if the OBC is refundable or not.

We usually go shopping on board when we have non-refundable OBC.  Normally we wouldn't do that ...

In fact, when we left Riviera in May they practically chased us to make sure we knew we had refundable OBC (as we checked out).  We'd already told Reception twice to refund it to the credit card, which they did ... but it appeared not everyone was aware.
