Platinum priority disembarkation?

How does the priority disembarkation perk for Platinum level work?

You go to the Cruise Next desk and request yellow priority bag tags. Priority bags will be the first bags available in the luggage hall after Suites. You still need to stand in line to get off the ship, get to the baggage hall, and get through customs.

Why not just do walk off. I'm platinum. Why even go to luggage hall. Grab your wheeled luggage n go

We sometimes do a mixture of both. We like to do self assist, as it means we can leave when we like and we don’t have to worry about putting the bags out.

However, sometimes when we know that there is nothing we will need in a case, we put it out to save having to wheel it around (it often means we can all use the stairs rather than someone wait for a lift). We then know our bag will be waiting for us whenever we decide to leave.

Priority debarkation does not exist. You just get a gold luggage tag that puts them in their own area. You still have to get yourself off and there’s no priority there. You can’t get past the lines. And if you leave during self-assist and you don’t have your luggage with you they won’t let you in the luggage area on the dock until all luggage is off due to the small fork lifts moving all about.

Key to walk off is to wait for the initial surge of debarkation passengers to herd themselves through customs.  Unless you can get yourself out of your cabin EARLY and be the first in line to disembark, you're going to have a wait.

The Platinum luggage area at the pier is smaller than the other luggage areas.  You can find your luggage easier as a result.

I still strongly suggest just using carryon and keep them with you upon initial ship embarkation and final disembarkation.  That's the quickest way.

Thanks all. We are not light packers so carrying off doesn’t appeal to us, especially given how crowded the elevators already are. It is listed as a perk so I was just wondering what it actually meant.

Thanks!
