JOY - Concierge cabin questions

Recommended Posts

Does   concierge cabin include  breakfast and lunch in a private restaurant?

Is embarkation check-in a  private room like Haven cabins? If not, do you embark right after Haven cabin  people?

Is there priority disembarkation like Haven, in a private elevator?

Someone posted a video of a CB cabin (14th floor, concierge penthouse suite) that mentioned they got two more free dinners at one of the "a la carte" restaurants - and also a free bag of laundry.  Anyone else get this?

We just got off the Joy on 5/25 in a family concierge balcony.  There was NO separate room for Haven or Concierge in Seattle for embarkation - very disappointing.  We did get priority boarding - not totally certain - maybe Haven went before us - We were in Boarding Group 1 and the first group called, so I don't think so.

We did get priority disembarkation which was nice - we were going to self-disembark, but decided not to since we got priority and would not have to fight the crowds. (not sure if Haven was before us),  To disembark was in the Joy Theatre and 1/2 of it was for Seattle excursions and everyone was totally lost on where we were to go. You would think after 3-4 weeks they would have it down. (There were only about 20-25 of us concierge folks when our time came - not sure where Haven people were - or if they were there)

We were allowed to eat breakfast and lunch in La Cucina which was nice - always a table ready - no wait and decent food and fast service - comparatively.

We were in 14742 - did not get free laundry nor free specialty restaurants.

We did call our concierge 3 times - for reservations for early dinner on our 2 show nights - which we could not order online; for reservations for the VR gaming - which he got for us 2 hours later and for reservations for the comedy club. Also, the second time we went to La Cucina, we figured out that they gave us the wrong color key cards (another snafu checking in at Seattle Port). By the time we were done with lunch, he came over with purple cards to replace our green cards. He did not contact us ahead of the cruise, and it certainly would have been nice to be more clear as to what the concierge room entitled us to - for example we would have had no idea that we could eat in La Cucina if it were not for these boards - which I put a lot on NCL for, but he was somewhat useful for what we needed him for.

No Haven room at embarkation?

We had H6 cabins on our 5/18 Joy cruise.  After security there was a Haven sign to the embarkation/sign in area and it was definitely separate.  There were drinks and cookies and fruit all along a wall.  There were about 4 people signing people in and it wasn't crowded at the time we got there; probably 10:30 or so.  They had butlers escorting groups as they were checked in and ready!  Definitely a separate area.  I can't say it was definitely for Haven only or for Haven/concierge rooms.

We'll be in a deck 14 concierge Family Inside next March.

So, down 6 decks--and Bloody Mary on the Waterfront every morning.

Perfect.

I am glad you found a separate Haven embarkation area.  We were finding a lot of our cruise critic and "other" forum group at the dock at our 9:30 check in - many of us took the same shuttle from the same hotel.  It was a mess trying to get our key cards printed - apparently the machines were switched - and then everyone was directed in the same way. We met up with some Haven people who were upset that there was no separate check in for them.  Maybe they had the wrong "green" cards like we did and were directed to the wrong place.  I am not sure what color cards Haven people have, but I know having the "purple" concierge cards on the second day of the cruise helped with things like getting into La Cucina for breakfast and lunch.

Haven disembarkation is usually handled directly from the Haven lounge and down the service elevators, both in ports of call and at the final port.  It's clear that Concierge is a lower tier of suite and does not receive the same level of priority or exclusivity as Haven.  The Haven Freestyle Cards should be gold.

Sorry, I did not take pictures. I can tell you for breakfast as soon as you ordered, you could go up to a small "salad bar" type area, that had a small assortment of fresh cut fruit (orange/grapefruit slices or melon slices, etc). They also had yogurt parfaits, etc. that you could have a healthy snack immediately while waiting for your eggs benedict (my cruise favorite), or thick french toast, etc. waiting to be served.

No, I did not see any crabs on the breakfast or lunch menus. I am pretty sure I would have remembered that! I do believe that my eggs Benedict had a little bit of caviar or something that looked like it on top.
