History of Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle is a myth. The supposed area is the ocean between Bermuda, Miami, Puerto Rico. So when you are in Bermuda you are in the waters of the Bermuda Triangle. So you are viewing it in Bermuda, Bahamas, etc. Bermuda Tourism has not done all that much to exploit the myth. Your best bet for a history is at the BUEI ( Bermuda Underwear Exploration Institute) which is in Hamilton. They have an exhibit. There are shipwrecks in Bermuda you can see. Nothing mysterious, there are many reefs and ships often wrecked on them. The chair rental concession at Clearwater Beach is named Bermuda Triangle. I don’t think that means anything.

Underwear exploration???  Thanks for the info.  I will check out BUEI.  I guess I am just looking for historical entertainment, pirates etc.

The National Museum which is located at the Dockyard has the maritime history. Historical entertainment takes place in St. George’s at noon. The ducking of the wench. St. George’s is a World Heritage Site, you can visit Fort St. Catherine which is located on St. George’s.

Our first cruise 46 years ago went directly through the area known as the Bermuda Triangle. The sky was blue and it was a very sunny day with nothing on the Captains charts about any kind of storm. As soon as we entered the triangle the sky got dark and we were in the worst storm I ever saw .Every passenger and crew member became violently ill.

i believe in the Bermuda Triangle.
