I'm pretty lucky I live near some nice burger and rib joints though admittedly there is no view to admire😉

Ok that is better than what I was thinking. My mistake😊. Still if I ate breakfast my stingy self would be heading to Maccas at those prices😜

We try to do the degustation menus at places like that. They tend to be pretty good value since you get to try a little bit of everything and you do eventually get full. I should give credit that some places in The Rocks can be good value. Last year at Vivid we did a three course menu du jour that was only $40 each, the food was amazing and servings generous👍

With the internet I have found it easier then ever to avoid Circular Quay style places around the world. I think that was why I was surprised by the stat of spending 🤔. I thought that I indulged when I travelled but it seems I'm a scrooge next to the average😜. It is always good to have your assumptions challenged keeps the grey matter alert.

Americans are traditionally different to us they eat out a lot and spend every last cent ,then borrow some more. The land of consumerism

Not that we aren’t catching up.

A couple of years back a client put me up at the Sydney Hilton it was something crazy like $40 each for buffet breakfast.

At the Savoy in London (2015) we had breakfast included to the value of 32 GBP pp, trust me when I say that we got a good breakfast but it was one of the cheapest options on offer.

Oasis 5 is named wonder of the seas and will be based in Asian.

Where will it go in the Chinese winter is the question,Singapore or Australia .

I think it is scheduled for Asia year round, the review says it will be much more Asian-ised than previous ships. That reads, more casino less bars for us.

Can’t see it Shanghai year round,it’s not a cold weather ship.

If we don’t get a Oasis we will be getting another Quantum

Most likely Singapore for the colder months in China and Japan, but then they are Asian-ising it so maybe it will be less pools and such and more casino.

Would be even less ports for an Oasis class ship to dock in our region - even less than Ovation is able to get into. I don't think they really design the Oasis class ships with tendering in mind at all. Can you imagine tendering for 6,000+ pax!

And sushi for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I think a purpose built ship would have a tender capacity.

Oasis is a warm weather ship so it would be based in Brisbane or Sydney and do a loop to NZ north island and the islands.

Theres a few port Tauranga ,Picton,Noumea,Vila and maybe a couple of tenders

They could make the tender ride ashore into an event in itself.  .......

(or perhaps not ,

the cruise lines might like the idea and start charging for the ride....☺️ )

Definitely would not want to be in anything other than a suite with priority tendering.
