Milestone/Diamond

First, thanks to the kind folks that responded to my last question. One more and I will try and quit bothering you. We should get a 25% discount after our B2B for 25 cruises and a free upgrade for hitting Diamond. I assume we can use both on one cruise I.E. book a ocean view on a nicer cruise, get the 25% OBC then get the upgrade to balcony. Now here's the real question. I read somewhere that someone said they used theirs on one cruise and their Wifes on another. How would this all work and what are the advantages etc. Thank you all again for your patience and help. Joe

DW and I used our 25th milestone awards on two different cruises and plan to do the same thing next year with our 50th.  The main reason for doing this is that we would not incur enough onboard charges to fully use all of the OBC if both of us used ours on the same cruise.  Also, we try to use our milestone awards on long (14 days or longer) cruises to get the largest benefit.

I know milestone hits at 25 cruises but I think day wise I am far from Diamond...  Question - if use only your 25% OBC is that for the price of just your half of the cruise as OBC?  Thanks!  Just wanting to make sure I have it straight.  Does CCL send you a certificate to use or tell you in some way?

It is 25% of your base rate, excluding taxes and port fees, given as a non refundable OBC. You do not have to use it on your 25th cruise, it just has to be used before you hit your 50th. You should try to use it on a more expensive cruise to get more bang for the buck. I used my 25 and 50 milestones on Journeys cruises. You may get a letter (we never did), after your 24th cruise. To redeem your milestone benefit you need to call the Milestone Desk (877-225-8477) at least 30 days prior to the cruise you want to use it on. The OBC won't show up on your documents until just a few days before your cruise, so don't get upset if it doesn't show right away. The terms and conditions also say that you need to book your milestone cruise within 18 months after receiving your letter, but I have heard that this isn't enforced. Hope this helps. :classic_cool:

The upgrade from 6a to a good balcony worked for us, the kicker is that you each get one and they each cover both people (wouldn't know about additional guest) in the cabin. We did a b2b used mine on one and wife's on the other, same cabin for both legs, both free upgrades.

If you go to the casino, you can charge money to your sail and sign card. The Milestone OBC can be used that way to just get the cash. My wife and I just got off of our 25th milestone cruise and used the OBC in the casino. We were on a casino premier cruise so we did not have to pay the 3% that the casino normally charges.

Yes you can use the diamond upgrade and the milestone benefit at the same time. The reason we used one milestone at a time was I reached my 25th cruise before my husband. As others have said use the milestone benefit on longer, more expensie cruises. We used one of ours on the 15 day Hawaii.

Thanks for posting this! I was waiting for our letters to arrive before calling, and instead just called the Milestone Desk today to get our OBC on the second leg of our B2B on December 7th. The rep advised they are no longer sending the letters and it was a good thing I called! 😁

We took our 50th cruise in Feb. 2017 and 75th in Mar. 2019.

We applied our 50th to a cruise upcoming Dec. 2019 well over 2 1/2 years since making that level.  We were asked to use our 50th before the 75th, that was the only request.  Would have used it sooner but, like others waited for a journey cruise to get a better obc.
