HAL'  s demographics...........  a re exactly  what?  🙂

I'd  like to know how any of us casual cruisers,  not   heavy hitters  active  in the industry  would have access to such statistics ?

I am extremely disappointed to hear that other cruise lines have treated your son this way.

Thank you.  It is sometimes difficult to travel with a child, even an adult child, who looks perfectly normal, but isn't.  Thankfully, HAL is a good fit for him, and he loves cruising on those "dam" ships.

Bottom line: I don't care if HAL has more repeat passengers or if some other line holds this distinction.  I do care about excellent service, ambiance, and customer service.  IMO, HAL ticks these boxes for us.  We will continue to sail with HAL until they fail to deliver the product we know and love.

I’m a former partner of one of Miami’s largest cruise travel agencies and I don’t know how they can make this claim. Our 2 biggest sellers including returning guests were Carnival and Royal Caribbean. And I mean by far!  HAL wasn’t even close.

Carnival is ubiquitous in  Miami and the southeast, so that makes sense that they would attract so many repeaters.

In the 1990's,  I applied for a job with Carnival in Miami, to work onboard.

The interviewer proudly told me that Carnival had the highest number of first time cruisers out all the cruise lines. He then added that they were not interested in earning repeat business. Why ? Because if people liked their first cruise experience, they would want to upgrade their experience for their next cruise, and would move up to another line, such as Princess.   That was fine with Carnival, as long as they got them in the door first.   A decade later,  while working for HAL,  occasionally we would handle Carnival embarkation.  Without a doubt, the majority of guests were first time cruisers.  Of course the shorter itineraries attracted more first timers,  but even the 12-14 day trips had close to a 50/50 split.
