One of my favorite cities in the entire world.

We visited several times before and during Crystal Cruises including our first one on Harmony and on land trips and while living n the Bay Area for four years.

I always think in some ways it's out of a story book as I do about Venice.

Today's sunrise is from my 2014 Amsterdam Cape Town to Ft. Lauderdale World Cruise segment(returning from a Crystal World Cruise segment).  April 26 was a sea day on the way from St. Maarten to Ft. Lauderdale:

They might not be as young as other ships afloat but these two beauties have many special feature not available on much newer ships.

I hope we have the opportunity to sail with them again even if they end up under a different cruise line name.

Today's land based sunrise is from  a layover between a short Carnival Inspiration cruise out of Long Beach and a Crystal Symphony cruise San Pedro to New York.  It was taken in the heart of Long Beach:

Currently sailing the Celebrity Edge Transatlantic. Yesterday we were in beautiful Funchal, Madeira. As we disembarked and viewed the various ship names along the sea wall, we came across an old friend!

Also, a beautiful sunset last night from the aft decks of the Edge.

Today's sunrise is from my spring 2017 sequence of cruises with the final leg Crystal Symphony San Diego to New York.  May Day  was a sea day between San Diego and Puerto Vallarta:

Today's sunrise is from my 2013 trip featuring Angkor Wat between 2 trans-ocean cruises.  It was taken my final morning from Amtrak's Cardinal near Ashland, Kentucky.

So OLoPP is off to visit mom in KCMO.  I dragged a suitcase down from the attic for her to (over)pack. It still had the Crystal debark tag (green 3) on it, which I removed.  When we were cruising, the appearance of those tags outside our cabin door would make me sad because of what they signified.  Now removing it makes me even more sad, as there are no embark tags on their way.

Also, she won't let me throw it away.  Can't disagree.
