I was just debunking the humble pine as being John's hint.

It isn't the home of the Norfolk pine.

 

Can't be many Islands left, but we need to be heading to an island east of those pair.

Taken from Wala, with Malakula in the background behind the ship. Sun Princess is the ship, taken in the dying days of 2007. We have been to Wala once since in late 2013.

 

It was an infrequently visited port through those times, but I can't recall a large ship anchoring there for several years - going the same way as places like Ouvea & Pentecost.
