Could you do it on a ship or will you have to extend your stay in the port city and get tested there? Edited October 31, 2020 by evandbob

The way Cuomo's new rule lays out a person needs to have a test and get a negative result no more than three days before returning to NYS, and then again no less than four days after returning. I guess a person flying would need to get a test before boarding the plane. The rapid testing will help, but will insurance companies even pay for multiple tests in order to vacation? My guess is that with the 3 day quarantine requirement, you would be unable to even travel to the cruise ship terminal unless you arrive several days before the cruise. pe4all Posted November 2, 2020 Author #6 Share Posted November 2, 2020 We have been looking into this as we are trying to get down to FLL for Thanksgiving. The only place in the FLL area to do rapid testing is Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. You can reserve a rapid test time slot up to 7 days in advance. I think they are closed Sundays. We called the Florida health dept. ant they said any other testing would get results in 3-5 days. Upon return here to NY we have a walk-in urgent care that does rapid tests, but you can only reserve a spot 3 days in advance. With planning (and making a trip to Miami) if all works out it can be done. Of course that is assuming you test negative. If positive you are stuck in Florida quarantining, or stuck extending your 3 day NY quarantine to 14 days.
