Scored an actual deal on CHEERS!

I saw a few others getting the promo that actually makes Cheers a good deal a couple weeks ago and eagerly checked my promos only to find I still had just the RU9 promo that actually makes it more expensive than if I just purchased Cheers ala carte. But my cruise roomie, got the jackpot Promo in her VIFP profile! We were able to get our booking repriced using her promo code which includes Cheers for just $130 per person! To buy Cheers separately for our 5 day cruise, it would have cost $306 per person, so this is a savings of $175 per person and more importantly makes it worth it for my roomie, who doesn't drink much, to get Cheers. I was afraid that i was going to have to pay for drinks ala carte  because Cheers just doesn't make sense for her. So this is going to save me a TON of $$$$! So excited!

Awesome you got the casino jackpot rate. I'm very happy I got cheers for $25 and $35 for just me, though no obc, lost $50 obc. But worth it to match. Though I'm paying full cruise rates.

Made it worth it for me even for a few drinks. Congrats. ..though lots will have drinks included. I hope they hire extra bar tenders!

This will be so worth it for me! Cheers is worth it for me even at full price cause I'm an all day drinker on vacay (even hit my max a few times!). But my friend I've cruising with this time only has 2-3 a day usually and she just wouldn't do Cheers full price. So this is a win-win for sure!

Good morning Firefly333.

Can you share how you were able to get your rate adjusted for that amount?  I have called a couple of times, and I am being told that I have to use the new cruise rate to receive the CHEERS  package promo, and that will amount to an additional $600.  I plan on calling again and am hoping to speak to some else in the resolution department, but would love to hear how you were able to do it.

My cruisefare I booked at is exactly the rate right now, or within $1 but looks to me exactly the same. Unfortunately for me as I see several other dates where people scored big price drops. I'm actually thinking too bad I picked a more popular date and no price drop for me.

So I am paying the new cheers on us rate. I didnt just add the extra for cheers my TA did a price match to the current rate. Well actually the old rate I had a $50 obc that was part of my rate which I gave up when I price matched to the new cheers rate.

I do  not have a casino rate, just making the best I can making lemonade out of lemons. My full price rate isnt anything to write home about, but the amount extra for cheers is a good deal. Halloween is $110 cheaper and sept 25 is cheaper and some other dates. ..that's the downside of locking in early and prices for other dates drop. You are stuck with the higher priced date. If I'm stuck paying the higher price for a popular date might as well spend another $35 for cheers. No idea why cheers is so little extra. But I am paying the full priced fare. I already was.

I did score a deal on breeze I couldnt resist.

Okay, thanks for the information.

The current rate for my cruise is almost $1000 more than what I paid.
I don’t know if I want to keep trying to get the Cheers package at a reduced rate or just leave it alone and use the $600 obc that I currently have and pay for the Cheers that way, or just pay for the drinks daily, because I am sure I won’t ever spend that much on drinks on an10 day Journeys cruise.

Decisions, decisions.

Not sure which journey cruise, but I assume you have ports so wouldnt get the full enjoyment every day and it's a special cruise if it's a journey cruise. Talks at night of what to watch for etc.

I could drink at home if I wanted to, so it's not a huge deal for me, but well worth what I paid plus tips. My little cruises if I miss a port or whatever, been there before, but journey cruises are special. I'd pay per drink.

I am in my upper 50's and rarely drink at home. 2 years ago I did a 14 day Journeys cruise and got my money's worth with the Cheers package. I really didn't think I would because I had only been back a week from another cruise with a beverage package.

Just curious about what you mean by the Journeys cruises being special.  We have one booked but I assumed the name just meant "extended length" and more ports (and that's special enough for us)!  Are there more variety in the shows and comedy, or other things I might not have anticipated?

How do you check for a promo?  Is it in your cruise manager on the website?

I dont know which one you have. Some have a special naturalist, or a gift, usually something special. They are meant to be special. Its more than a regular cruise. Doesnt it say somewhere what extra they have for your cruise?

Thanks for the link.   Ours is one of the Panama Canal cruises.

Similar situation here.  I always have the best rates and promos available to me.  For whatever reason my CHEERS! promo is the RU9 which yes, makes it more expensive than just buying outright or at least really close.  That's not worth it for us since my wife A - doesn't drink and B - is pregnant.  For fun I checked her deals and she is eligible for RU1.  Not only that but her rate is only $25 more per person than my rate.  It's huge value.

If you log into the carnival site using your email address and password, you should be able to check your offers under your VIFP page. Or if you are doing a booking for cruise online, if your VIFP number is entered if will pull up any available and applicable offers. Not all offers are good for the same date ranges - for example I had two casino offers, one if I sail before May, 2022 and one if I sail before May, 2023.
