Onboard credit to purchase Carnival Gift Cards?

For anyone that's had onboard credit they couldn't spend and have cruised since cruises started back up.  Have you attempted to purchase Carnival Gift Cards at "Cherry on Top" using your onboard credit?  Not sure we can spend $750 on my next cruise since we're already booked with the drink package.

I don't know first hand but

People have claimed you can't on John Heald's Facebook page.

Carnival probably closed it like they closed the casino cash out "trick" and just marked it differently in the system somehow.

Have heard on other threads that the Cherry on Top purchasing of gift cards with OBC can no longer be used with OBC that was given to you from Carnival, such as the 300 or 600 because of cancelled cruises.  However, if you received this OBC from a TA, then you should be able to use it however you see fit.  Don't know if the 50/100/250 OBC from Carnival stock ownership is subject to the same ban, but would assume that it probably is.
