Rare jam19872016 Posted September 16, 2021 Author #126 Share Posted September 16, 2021 Had a great night alternating between the casino and the pub singer. He was very good I'll make sure to check him out again. It was also nice being right up the stairs from the casino bar where my drinks were free 🙂 I'm settling in for the night. Setting my alarm for 9 so I can be down for my test in the morning. Good night.

knuckles Posted September 16, 2021 #128 Share Posted September 16, 2021 (edited) Good Luck with your test. I will be on the Mariner 3 weeks from tomorrow. My wife and I were scheduled for the September 3rd sailing but she was still uncomfortable with the many cases in Florida. But with threads like yours, her fears are easing up and I am hopeful we will make our next one. So thank you for taking the time to do this. We also love the UDP and get it every time. I was interested in the Wind Jammer for lunch, just to see if it has gotten any better since the restart. I was wondering if you had a chance to check out the offerings? I too get so many offers from the casino and we have 6 free cruises booked for the next few months. Are you a table player as well or just slots? Have you noticed if the poker tables get crowded? Are they forcing players to sit a seat apart? If you get the chance, I would appreciate a picture or 2 of the tables during gaming hours. TIA, Knuckles Edited September 16, 2021 by knuckles
Rare jam19872016 Posted September 16, 2021 Author #129 Share Posted September 16, 2021 Quick and easy. The hardest part was dragging myself out of bed. Still waiting on results. Grabbed a quick bite from Windjammer now I'm going to see if I can go back to sleep. I feel pretty awake now but I'm gonna try. Zzzzz.

TIA, Knuckles The casino is a fully vaccinated area (must wear the bracelet - this week it is green - to prove it). There are people at the entrances to check. No spacing is being enforced in the casino - neither at the bar, the slots, nor the tables. Masks are suggested but not mandatory in there. It has abeen a very busy place even with the reduced guest numbers.
keyboardjunkie Posted September 16, 2021 #132 Share Posted September 16, 2021 For the UDP on boarding day, your options will be Windjammer, Jamie's Italian, or Johnny Rockets.

Rare jam19872016 Posted September 16, 2021 Author #134 Share Posted September 16, 2021 I got a little more sleep in. I haven't been sleeping this whole time. I think the internet went down again but I'm not sure because when I restarted my phone magic presto it is working again. So maybe it was my phone. Once I got it going and could get in my email, my results came back negative - three more days on Mariner!! I wanted to do Johnny rockets for lunch but they do not open until 3 so I am going to playmakers. I've got to find something that is not going to spoil my dinner again lol.

TIA, Knuckles I took a walk through the Windjammer just now I've got some pictures I'll post below. They only had about 1/4 of the buffet open but maybe it is because we are in coco cay. I will check again on embarkation day see if there is more variety. Slots and video poker. The slots are expansive and not too crowded but busy. The tables are all jammed into a small section of the casino and full or near full when I've walked through. I try not to purposely get photos of people but I will get a count of how many are at the various tables for you tonight 😃. They are giving a lot of casino rooms out right now so the ship is empty, the casino is most definitely not. No social distancing required since it is a vaccinated only venue. Hope you and your wife make it and I am sure you will have a great time if you do.

Rare jam19872016 Posted September 16, 2021 Author #138 Share Posted September 16, 2021 There was also a pasta station I don't think that I photographed tucked at the end of the buffet.
Rare jam19872016 Posted September 16, 2021 Author #139 Share Posted September 16, 2021 I ordered light from playmakers. Just an app and dessert. It was still so much food but maybe by dinner I can think about food again. Buffalo crunch roll. You'll need to tilt your head for this one. Playmakers Sundae. That sundae goes on forever. It is five scoops of ice cream i should have shown you how deep that cup is. Four hours till dinner at Jamie's. Hope I can do it justice tonight. keyboardjunkie Posted September 16, 2021 #142 Share Posted September 16, 2021 (edited) They are plastic 'jell' bands. Quite stretchy and easy to pull on and off. They must be worn whenever outside the cabin. Edited September 16, 2021 by keyboardjunkie

keyboardjunkie Posted September 16, 2021 #144 Share Posted September 16, 2021 Saw Jam at Playmakers.......he recommended the sundae. It was definitely a WOW. Two of us ate it and still could not finish it. Recommended!
keyboardjunkie Posted September 16, 2021 #145 Share Posted September 16, 2021 Boarding Day tip....... Even before you can enter the terminal you will have to show your vaccination card AND your negative test results so have these out and ready. Then, don't put them away! Keep them handy. You will need to show them three more times. 2

I especially love that they come on and off so I can take them off in the room and if they are bothering me a little and I'm not in a vaccinated only area. I don't think I've had to take them off in public one time this trip though. 2 minutes ago, keyboardjunkie said: Saw Jam at Playmakers.......he recommended the sundae. It was definitely a WOW. No way most people can eat these portions without help lol.

When I was boarding Carnival Sunrise last week they were so concerned about getting me to a secondary screening for answering yes to a question in my health questionnaire (foreign travel) they never checked my friend's negative test. Kind of makes sense in that regard to have so many people checking.
Rare jam19872016 Posted September 16, 2021 Author #148 Share Posted September 16, 2021 Just finished 50's and 60's name that tune trivia. I didn't win but I can't believe I did better here than any trivia I've done in the last two weeks considering I didn't come along until the 80's. Gonna go get packed up to get that out of the way and chill in the room till dinner at Jamie's at 6.
Rare jam19872016 Posted September 16, 2021 Author #149 Share Posted September 16, 2021 Wifi went down for a few hours again. Just had another amazing supper at Jamie's. Garlicky prawns. These were good. I was warned they were spicy. They are definitely not. Ultimate garlic bread. I played a game of those don't look as good as Giovanni's but when I bit into i became a believer. Just as good. Truffle tagliatelle. This was basically heaven in a plate. Thanks to @keyboardjunkie for the recommendation. For dessert i ordered the tiramisu. This was good but did not win the game of this does not look as good as Giovanni's. Giovanni's was better.
TheBucketLister Posted September 16, 2021 #150 Share Posted September 16, 2021 (edited) It has been fun watching your experience. Glad you are having a great time! Can't wait for my B2B (5+5) in December on Mariner! Quick question about the Unlimited Dining Plan and Playmakers. Are you able to use the $20 credit you are allotted, multiple times in one day? Meaning, is it $20 for Playmakers per day total, or is it $20 each time you go to Playmakers, each different time throughout the day, for example 2-3 times a day, each with the $20 allottment? I love me some wings and nachos and would like to get them multiple times throughout the day. Edited September 16, 2021 by TheBucketLister
