Here is something I've not said in a while

 Casino was good to me tonight!!

 

 

This is my 9th night on a royal Caribbean ship and its my first time turning a profit 🙂

It's been a great first night on Mariner.

 

No nacho run but I did make a cafe promenade run for a small bite before bed.

 

 

Took a walk around outside. It's quiet out here. A lot still going on inside.  The sky pad is pretty at night.

Back in the room. Going to watch a little TV and then head to bed. I didn't sleep well last cruise on Sunrise but this room feels promising. I've got a double bed, and the room is ice cold. Yes, I may sleep till noon 🙂

Thanks for letting us virtually join you for this cruise.  I'm on Mariner on November and appreciate the real experiences on the ship since it's restart.  

 

Congrats on a good night at Casino Royale!  They can be few and far between for most of us.

 

Curious as to your thoughts on the pool deck (during the day) as I will be traveling with a group of four.  Are we able to bring four chairs together?

 

Keep the food porn coming!  🙂

My theory was right. Great nights sleep. I am a tall guy and my feet did not hang over the bed which is very rare on a cruise.

 

In the incredibly tacky category though....at 903 I received a message from cruise next reminding me to book a cruise with them for double C&A points. It did not ring I don't think but it did flash a light in the room letting me know had a message.

 

That just screams tacky and desperate to me, like a timeshare salesman. Do better royal, do better. At least a more reasonable hour.

The great thing about sleeping in is my ultimate dining plan is ready to get to work. I think I am going to try chops for lunch today.

You will have no trouble. You may have to push them together because it looks like the itinerary set up was two by two but lots of people have rearranged to be three and four together.

 

At noon on a sea day there are not that many loungers still available though except the very back rows. No 4 together at all in the solarium.

 

Lots more food incoming 😋

I had a terrible experience with beef quality on Freedom the filet was going to be a hard pass. Alas the menu was even more abbreviated than the abbreviated lunch menu in the app so I will be giving the filet anther try and if it sucks I'll go next door to Jamie's for second lunch.

 

I was all in on the tots but it is not an option. Oh the horror. Very very small menu.

Next time I'll ask for a single patty and no marshmallows on the cookie. I think i just caught diabetes eating that thing.

I think I caught it by just looking at it!  Oh well, back to my lunch protein smoothy...dehydrated peas mixed with water...yum!

Looking forward to our Christmas cruise on Mariner...hoping it will all be maskless by then!

Lunch was good and just enough food to fill me up without making me hate myself 😆

 

The filet was much better quality. It was overcooked, but I can work with that. Send it back or order a cooler temperature but when the beef is garbage, there is not much you can do to improve it.

 

Shrimp cocktail.

 

 

Filet mignon with a side of Mac n cheese.

 

 

Cheesecake for dessert.

The steward was still tidying up so I'm outside on deck 4 enjoying the beautiful weather. There is a gentle breeze blowing and a faint sloshing of waves. Its very peaceful out here.

No, just the wrist bands for vaccinated which seems redundant if everyone over 12 is required to be vaccinated. Everyone under 12 is wearing the youth activity bracelet. So essentially everyone is wearing a bracelet. A protocol that hasn't adjusted to the times for sure.

Ok i hate myself again. It had been more than an entire hour since I ate so I went to playmakers for some nachos.

 

 

That was an unreasonable amount of food. It could easily be shared by 4 people. I gave up but not nearly soon enough. The next time I want a snack I'm going to try Johnny rocket's they have some serious portion control issues here lol.

We are also on the Mariner right now.  The cruise director is Marcelo Alvarado.  He is highly visible everywhere on the ship and seems to do a great job with his staff.  For C&A lounge guests, he does walk through the lounge frequently to speak with guests.

Did you end up doing the sushi & saki lunch? I thought about it but I couldn't justify the cost after the cost of the dining package.
