One More Time: Live From Mariner Of The Seas 10/22

Recommended Posts

I ordered the prie fixe option at Izumi which was one small plate, two large plates, and dessert. It was 34.99 so covered on the dining plan.

My first item was the crispy rice spicy tuna.

Are there “formal” nights on the 3 and 4 night sailings?

Tonight was dress your best. I saw some dressed up but it was pretty causul overall. Maybe more dressy in the mdr but not much out and about.

I knew I was in trouble when I was up before 8. I'm back in the room tapping out for the night.

Enjoyed a couple more habanero grapefruit daiquiris at Schooner Bar and did a quick hit and run in the casino. Made back the little bit I was down and have a small profit at the moment.

See you all tomorrow for perfect day!!

Last sailing you seemed to have lots of internet issues. Curious if you have surf, or surf and stream.

I upgraded to the faster one for a November sailing and wondering if it was wasted money.

I have surf and stream. Stream is not accurate, too much buffering to be enjoyable. Other than  that and dropping connection almost every time I move about the ship, its fine. I don't know that paying for stream is worth it, but maybe surf is even slower 🤔

This seems to be Mariner specific. Freedom was faster but still struggled to stream at times and Odyssey was lightning fast al the time.

I believe my other issues were CC related.

Edited to add that ironically while posting this my connection dropped again and then while adding this edit it dropped again. Its not the best for sure.

Mind if I ask what do you play at the casino?

canceled my plans. Changed into my swim suit, packed the beach bag, got to the pool deck for a towel and said nope gonna enjoy another ship day.

Currently on the pool deck enjoying some day drinking which I should have been doing this whole time to use all my vouchers I've been letting go to waste.

Video poker and slots. All my luck this trip has been slots. Its usually the opposite.

What kind of Video Poker can one find on a cruise ship? Any chance at finding a double bonus, duces wild or 9/6 Jacks or Better machines or are they unicorns on ships? If I can’t find these machines what’s the best pay table can I expect to find? I will be taking my first Royal Caribbean cruise in 20 years on Allure OTS on Feb 2022 so I’m curious to know what games are available to me.

I had a great lunch at Playmakers. It was full with people waiting when I left. Very small venue for this size ship.

Poke nachos.

Buffalo chicken crunch roll.

9/6 is rarer than a unicorn im afraid. I fully expect to see one of those on a cruise ship one day before ever seeing 9/6 JOB.

Its been 7/5 on every royal ship I've been on. Carnival used to be the same but have recently joined every other ship casino I've been on and dropped to 6/5. Meaning Royal has the best payouts at sea at least out of the ships I've gambled in.

They do have deuces wild and double bonus and a bunch more styles to choose from. Be sure to use your sea pass card in the machine, if you are even a moderate gambler and want to sail again Royal has the best comp program at sea.

Been lazing around the room since lunch even managed a nap which was not a great idea because I need to sleep early tonight.  O well I regret nothing 😜

Got some time till dinner. I'm going to do some more cruise shopping. I was going to let my cruise certificate go couldn't really find a date that would work. But it has a trade in value of 750 so I'm back to the drawing board to see if that is enough buying power for a 3 day.

Would you say the UDP provides sufficient variety and options? We purchased it for the first time.

Absolutely. For a short cruise it has plenty. Seven days it might get repetitive but for this definitely plenty of variety.
