Caps_Shield Posted October 26, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2021 We have a December cruise and a large family going. All the bookings are tied to one another. Everyone is vaccinated except for the under 12. Assuming they do not change the rules if/when the vaccine becomes available, how does he affect the others? Like I hear RCCL has vaxxed only areas, would my family not be able to go since a different family has a non vaxxed person? I do not want my time affected by someone else. If we untied the reservations would that fix this issue?
Miloomar Posted October 26, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2021 The rules only affect you when physically with the un-vaxxed.... if they are somewhere else on the ship, you can go anywhere a vaxxed person is allowed to go. But stay tuned to the news today... they are literally in the process of approving the 5-11 shots as I type this. It should be official by dinner time and the rollout should begin by this weekend

Linking doesn’t matter, only being with the unvax person matters. When with unvax person, you are all treated as unvax, when without, you are not. I hope they actually get him a vaccine too. That is not certain.

However we'll still have one under 5 (turns 5 the day our cruise ends). We don't have much hope we'll see the under 5 given approval before we sail. But our September 2022 sail should have no concerns.
JMKreno Posted October 26, 2021 #6 Share Posted October 26, 2021 We got off the Oasis a couple weeks ago. We had a party of 6, 5 over 12 (all vaccinated) and 1 6yr old. The OVER 12 experience was "fully" vaxxed in all venues when NOT with the 6 yr old. The ONLY location where we ALL had to be in an "unvaxxed" section was during dinner. However, if that is not something the group wants, you can unlink them and they will be given their own dining time. Otherwise, if you are NOT with the unvaxxed child, you can go to ANY venue that is fully vaxxed as well as take private tours in port WITHOUT the unvaxxed child. I can't make the call on the dinner thing. It's the wife's family. I am not sure what a unvaxxed dinner is so I guess I'll find that out. I just wanted to take my newly legal daughter to the casino and I was hoping I could. Sounds like I will be golden.

Unvaxxed dinner meant that we were seated in the unvaccinated dining room (ie KIDS dining room) which was deck 4 on the Oasis. The My Time dining room (12 and over ONLY - vaccinated) was on deck 3 and I believe the fixed dining time for vaccinated was on 5. An added perk of the "unvaxxed" dining room was that occupied tables were spaced out quite a bit so allowed for a much quieter dining experience than usual. I noted that My Time dining always looked much busier. That's the only real difference. As for your "legal" daughter for the casino, since she must be vaccinated anyway she should have no issues enjoying the casino outside of losing money and smoke 😁 Edited October 26, 2021 by JMKreno

I was seeing threads where they were requiring cruisers that had a birthday during their cruise that would put them in a vaccine required bracket has to be vaccinated, even it if was not technically possible. And one thread I saw it was similar to your case...they had their birthday on the last day of the cruise.

The day of disembarkation was the last day in one of the posts I saw. Just don't want anything to mess to mess up your cruise!
