Moderno booked on board ?

I am Platinum Lattitudes and booked my free dinner at LeBistro on NCL''s site and,  altho I'll also be getting a freebie at Moderno, when I tried to book it they wanted to charge m,e.  Called NCL and was told Moderno could only be booked on board as it had "an extra cover charge"  (whatever that means).  What's your experience?  Thank you.

I booked 3 specialty dinners a few months ago including Moderno, although our dining package only covered 2 meals.  I was not charged for anything at the time of making the reservations.

What you need to do is cancel the lebistro reservation and then book the moderno first and lebistro last

 

The order matters. You need to book all of the cover charges restaurants first and al la carte last

We've got 4 freebies ( 2 free at sea and 2 platinum). Was able to book three, but when it came to Moderno, somehow I hit their "paywall", as it wouldn't let me book without paying upfront. Decided Moderno had always been so-so anyway, so booked another Cagney's!!

The website does not know anything about your Platinum meals. Unless you have another dining package, it will want to charge you the flat cover charge for Moderno. If you do have any specialty dining meals included in your booking, then do what the others have suggested: cancel Le Bistro and book Moderno first.

 

Otherwise as far as I know you just have to wait until you're on board (or pay now and get refunded on board if you really really need to have it reserved ahead of time).

I'm Platinum (well Sapphire now with the changes) and I've never had an issue booking Moderno onboard...  Never tried online though.

The system doesn't know you get 2 Platinum meals, that's why. You can fix it on board. Hard to argue with 2x Cagneys, but you may end up needing to adjust things anyway during the cruise.

It doesn’t sound like the OP had any dining package, so in their case the order doesn’t matter. They can’t prebook Moderno without paying.
