We will be turning Diamond soon and I'm looking at Summer 2022 cruises.  I found a Balcony with Senior and Past Passenger discount at around $1100.  What kind of Diamond Discount can I expect?

Quite possibly nothing. If the discount sale is more than the balcony discount, it's not combinable.

I'm hoping the solo 340 discount is better than the balcony discount lol.

..though I read you get the full discount if you book a group cruise.

Most group rates I've seen are for two in a cabin.  Not one person with 340, not three people.

A TA can usually add an already booked solo cabin into a group though.

Generally speaking the solo DP340 has been a game changer for me, outside of July and August (and holidays) when DP340 is blacked out.  I am definitely cruising more because of it.  The downside with DP340 is that other cruise line pricing looks terrible for a solo compared to a DP340 eligible booking.  That's why sometimes July and August are good times to deviate and try another line.

The CAS balcony in practice is not a fixed amount because in the fine print you will find that it is not always combinable with all sales and promotions or other discounts.

What you will find is that the CAS balcony discounts works better and better as you climb the CAS ladder.

My TA will check all rates and tells me when the CAS isn't the best deal.  That is shocking and outrageous to some who expect a fixed amount off the best price they see.  It doesn't work like that.

Sometimes I feel like I'm not speaking english. I never said anything about group rates not being for 2 people. In fact solo you pay deposit as if for 2 people. All I said was my ta said for group rates the diamond discount could be applied.  (Unlike many other so called sales).

I think my dec are both group rates and for sure my march 2023 is a group rate for just me solo.

I dont cruise in the summer except alaska, and regretting my sept bookings but oh well. Was so hot last sept decided from now on I'll book later .. so the exceptions on solo dp340 rate wouldnt hurt me.

Any group rate can be priced as a solo with the applicappble discount whether balcony or the DP340 discount applied.

Balcony discount is combinable with the 340 night level, however, it's at a reduced rate.  For instance, my D+ balcony discount was reduced from $250 to $188.  It was also combinable with the Casino $ off.

What is DP340?

At 340 pts there is a solo discount. The code is dp340.

You also get another amenity gift but the solo discount is the big thing for some of us.

Above I merely said so far the diamond discount has been a disappointment and I hoped the dp340 code was better .. lol.
